I'd have to disagree with Lara's assessment of Charlo beating Golovkin. GGG is still a powerful fighter and may batter Charlo.

I think PEDalo beats Hurd he's on stronger stuff than he was at 155 gingerweight but Golovkin is gonna touch up Charlo

Nice, I'll have to rewatch that fight some time and look out for that from Canelo.

Yeah my favorite fighter is GGG but at the same time I really like slick/skilled guys like Lara too, so I can relate.

Why is it safe to say that he has a good chin? Who are the big punchers he faced?

Canelo while backing up was the bigger harder puncher in addition to making GGG miss. He actually outlanded GGG in power shots. How the phuk you running when you outland your opponent in power shots and literally lay on the ropes for 1/3 of the fight inviting your opponent in? Lara literally sprinted from Canelo all night landed virtually the same total punches as Canelo but was doubled up in power shots. You had insane low output from both guys because Lara ran staying out of range for himself and Canelo. 1 guy landed the occasional pot shot jab going in reverse running away from a fight while the other guy coming forward trying to make the fight pressing the action landing the occasional power shot. Sure there were close rounds only by default because there was little exchange of punches. But when they did it was Lara's jab vs Canelo's power punches and Canelo coming forward trying to fight vs Lara running away from one.
You need to re-watch the fight. Lara employed a stick-and-move strategy, making Alvarez miss and making him pay. Canelo plodded along following Lara, while looking like a fool with wild swings. Even a lot of the body shots they counted landed on Lara's arms. The art of hitting and not getting hit, which was what Canelo bragged about with GGG in the first fight. I think he hit Lara 5 or 6 times in the head the whole fight.

It came down to what style you like. Lara was far and away the better boxer, Canelo the better puncher. The judge Martinez was obviously paid off in my opinion, scoring 117-111. I think Lara deserved the decision.

The difference between opinions of most vs Canelo nut huggers like you, is you think Canelo won easily, while in reality only landed 50 or 60 shots to the body when he trapped Lara on the ropes. The whole entire rest of the fight he was being taken to school by Lara. If Lara's name was Floyd, he would have won for sure.

Yeah I just remember he got closer to Lara and starting imposing himself with his power punches at closer range. He was getting his lead foot round Lara's lead foot more. You always have one who has to have the angle advantage when it's orthodox vs southpaw. Lara was teeing off with razor sharp two and three punch combos for the first few rounds. I was really enjoying it, he was putting on a bit of a clinic, but then Canelo started getting closer. In the end I thought he had probably sneaked it by forcing the action.

I would give 160 Charlo a puncher's chance against anyone at 160 but he shouldn't be favored against any one of the top 5-7 guys. He is probably the most athletic but skills wise he is also clearly the most limited. Unless he lands a big shot, which is certainly possible, Jacobs/GGG/Canelo/Andrade/Saunders all outbox him for as long as the fight lasts.
                Good calls. Fair play bruv!

Nice, interesting take. What were your thoughts on the Korobov/Charlo fight if you watched it?

Charlo ain’t beating old man G. Hurd is a big, powerful, YOUNG man who could give Canelo a hard time.

Only watched the quick highlights of that one mate. From what I saw it looked like Charlo deserved the nod, but it wasn't an easy fight. Koborov seemed to be landing quite a few straight lefts. I've not actually seen any full fights of the Charlos yet, I've just been keeping an eye on them if you know what I mean. I'm not sure if they're over hyped yet. I think the middleweight one seems to be maybe the better of the two. Obviously the 154 one lost, and it looked like Harrison was outboxing him at times and deserved the win. Again I only saw highlights.
Why what did you think of the Koborov fight?
