I think Eddie Hearn is right. I don't think Khan fears domestic rivals but for some reason the fear of losing to them in his country and losing bragging rights is something that haunts him. It's crazy when you think about it. He'd rather risk getting knocked out by a Canelo at a higher weight then facing Kell Brook at a comfortable weight in what could be a more competitive affair.

For fans, it should be applauded every time a boxer steps up his opponent level.
For his own health, bad move.

I think Khan could be competitive, even defeat Crawford if Khan is in top shape regarding his leg and arm speed, and most specially, IF HE WEIGHS ABOUT THE SAME AS CRAWFORD on fight night.
See, of course AMERICAN Crawford fans will look for excuses and justifications, but what happened with Crawford-Gamboa is exactly the same as what happened with Mayweather Jr.-JMM, Canelo-Cotto, Canelo-Khan. that is, you put two fighters who are top tier, A class fighters, but one of them is 2-3 divisions bigger than the other one on fight night --Crawford, Mayweather Jr., Canelo-- and OF COURSE the huge cheating bully will win for sure, EVEN IF THE OTHER GUY IS ACTUALLY OUTPERFORMING HIM, but his punches don't even tickle the bully because the huge guy's opponent is so small and weak by comparison.
Crawford-Gamboa WAS A FARCE. Gamboa would have demolished Crawford, had they both been the same size and in top shape, and quite easily to boot IMHO (much faster legs, arms, great technique and precision, way more aggressive). same would have probably happen with JMM fighting at the same size as Mayweather Jr. Sadly, this story seems to be exactly what is about to happen with Garcia-Spence. Why boxing commissions don't do anything about weigh-ins on fight night as it used to be instead of the day before, is a depressing marketing question. People still pay big for mismatches where the chance of the tiny guy to win is real slim, due to the morbidity of the situation itself. But the miracle rarely, rarely happens, so it totally sux.
This article describes such unjust situation very clearly
PLEASE GOOGLE THIS
"Crawford entered ring at 152 lbs for Gamboa fight"
Because I'm not allowed to post the URL on here. The article clearly describes how HUGE Crawford was (152 pounds on fight night) at a fight that was supposed to be at the 135 pound limit.
This shouldn't happen in boxing any more, but it is becoming more and more a business where "champions" are fabricated by giving them unfair advantages, and the losing opponents never give up on the opportunity to make loads of money even if they lose by knowing they will be way smaller than a guy who is just as skilled as them, but they just can't say no to the money from a big fight . Sad, depressing, disgusting BUT TRUE.Last edited by sterilizer; 01-08-2019, 05:35 AM.

Ducking just means you don't want to fight somebody, it doesn't matter who it is.
For example, I think Canelo & GGG are the two best middleweights.
But I think both are ducking Danny Jacobs and Jermall Charlo, even though I think both of them could and most likely would beat both.
Floyd Mayweather was great at this. He didn't just duck people who he thought could and would beat him. He ducked people who could just make him look less spectacular in winning.
The fact of the matter is, Khan is supposed to lose to Crawford and loses nothing by losing to him, but losing to Brook would effect him everyday for the rest of his life.
Canelo's resume already shows me that he doesn't duck anyone! He might not fight who you want, when you want, but he's fought them all! Same as Floyd did!
Lastly, although I'm no fan, Khan should be applauded! Look at his resume compared to Kell Brook! Why should Khan let Brook make a ton of money of his name? If I were at the end of my game, I would rather face Crawford for a title too!
