    Ahh... here we go....

Talk about anything boxing related here. Where the boxing discussion is always Non Stop!

Also some speculation around here that maybe Ryan's drug test failure was contributory, but best I can tell the man should have been paid before the results of tests came through... who knows. Mike Coppingers name coming up again though.

IDK - hard to tell. Maybe nothing but something doesn't quite sit right with the Coppinger article I referenced above and I edited my post to say so.

Whatever. Absolutely it ain't a good look if guys are complaining about not being paid.
    Thanks for the link.

Hmmm. Although how thats worded its not clear to me Ryan hasn't been paid only that Ryan's manager hasn't been paid. And maybe there could be issues between Ryan & his manager.

And seeing the drug test stuff mentioned in that thread to & maybe there could be some draconian handling of positive tests with the WBSS with holding your money too I guess.

I'd like to hear what Ryan has to say about it personnally cuz I'd assume he'd have received some sorta reasoning from the WBSS or he could confirm if there is fighter/manager drama going on.

Hopefully Showtime or ESPN can put on some of those fights if it is too much for DAZN to handle

      Nonito Donaire - Zolani Tete
      Naoya Inoue - Emmanuel Rodriguez
      Mairis Briedis - Krzysztof Glowacki
      Yunier Dorticos - Andrew Tabiti
      Regis Prograis - Kiryl Relikh
      Josh Taylor - Ivan Baranchyk

That's a lot of good fights on tap. Would be a shame to see them go by the wayside.

It's hard to believe that they could be strapped with a 3-year deal with DAZN. Those guys threw money around like Floyd at a strip club.

Why would this be on DAZN?

DAZN said they'd pay the WBSS whatever they both decided upon. If the WBSS can't pay their fighters with that money + their previous investors money thats on the WBSS not DAZN.

DAZN could likely sue the WBSS if they don't fulfill the rest of the tournament obligations or give DAZN some of their money back.

If he's scrambling to find financing in time to save the tournament, he's not going to publicly admit they ran out of money.

Wait, Ryan is the only one complaining about not getting a victory bonus? He lost...

Hmmm. Good point. I suspect Martin's manager may be talking about this referenced in Coppingers article:

The World Boxing Super Series contract requires participants to submit invoices for purses, an uncommon practice. The contract stipulates that fighters receive payment within five business days of invoice submission; in some cases, that promise has been met. Boxers are typically handed a paycheck the day of the fight.
Which I assume refers to out of pocket expenses such as training and travel etc (be hard to get guys to participate if they thought they might be in danger of losing money).

But you're right in that we're not given a single name, quote or reference in the Coppinger article (or indeed any evidence of any sort whatsoever), nor have I heard anything elsewhere about any fighter not being paid their bonus as the article claims... in fact the whole tone of it is subtly negative while appearing to try to seem objective. All a bit weird.

Expenses like that have always come out of a fighters purse though...whenever you see the purse it’s always before the corner, manager, promoter, etc. get their chunks.

Regardless, here’s hoping it’s just BS
