Its quite clear who Wilder will be facing next. Dom Breazeale. So will they price the PPV at the same price as Fury v Wilder? Shelly Finkel has made it quite clear that Wilder is now a PPV super star, i know they wont release the actual numbers but thats what hes telling us and his LDBC friends have told us that those PPV's were all down to Wilder as Fury is an unknown in the States.
Now im not disagreeing with any of that, i have my doubts but im in no position to prove them wrong on anything. So if Wilder is a PPV star then Wilder is a PPV star. I know another PPV star, Anthony Joshua. He fought Breazeale on PPV, sold alot of tickets and sold alot of PPV's as he is a PPV star.
So with Wilder being one too im presuming he will also continue on PPV. How much will they be? Will the price go down because its not quite as high profile? The Fury one seemed quite expensive but then im British and all American PPV's seem expensive.
Showtime Championship Boxing is the more likely platform for this bout because one have to be insane to put this fight on pay per view. It won't do the numbers that Fury/Wilder generated
Is Fury out? If Fury is out I definitely feel like Breazeale is next or on the shortlist for sure, but I've not heard Fury is out so I'm gonna assume Fury is the most likely opponent.
But if Breazeale is next there isn't much of a shot that'll be a PPV.
Rumors have it that, the major sticking point in the negotiations with Wilder vs Fury is that Fury's people would like to stage the bout in the U.K. Which is something Deontay Wilder and his team is very reluctant to do.
Why can they not charge $30? I see no reason. Why cant they price others at $30?
I will be honest, Joshua is a PPV star, now they claim Wilder is a PPV star but his next fight against another American challenger wouldnt be on PPV even though Joshua could manage it? Its all starting to sound very iffy to me just how much of a star Wilder is and how strong of an excuse it is to not have to travel to the UK to face Fury or Joshua.
So was it Fury that made the PPV a success and not actually Deontay? Surely if you a PPV star you are a PPV star and are PPV status. If Wilder cant make a PPV out of the Breazeale fight he cant be classed as a PPV star.
It's because America is a capitalist society where business men like to maximize their profits and revenues. If there is a demand for the fight why not put it on Pay per view? but if not, then who is ever in charge of Wilder's career would be a damn fool to do so because at the end of he day it's a crap shoot; A gamble and they would stand to lose $millions of dollars in sponsorships and advertisements because the fight won't sell at the box office or on pay per view.
Likely would be on Fox I'm assuming which would do big ratings but of course nobody wants that fight next!
WBC Screwed this one up by some how giving Breazeale mandatory status without him having to earn it. Should've been in a Final Eliminator with Whyte or Ortiz or something instead of just giving it to him and he haven't fought any of them yet
