Without sounding pretentious here.. I fear for Mares. It's going to be a Jhonny Gonzalez all over again, but maybe even a lot worse. His purse could well be eaten up by his medical bills.

Mares might surprise all of us. He's an experienced veteran with only 3 losses (two of those against Leo Santa Cruz). Davis isn't even in his prime yet. We'll see.

If Mares gets caught it's over.

You can see flaws in every boxer. You just have to be able to execute it.

Robert Garcia saw something in Mayweather with the pull counter but Maidana still couldn't pull off the victory.

I'm no Davis fan but remember Mares went the distance with Cuellar while Davis stopped him in 3

You are right. Mares has a chance of winning but I don't believe he will. Tank is just too young, strong, big, fast and powerful for Mares at this stage of his career. In addition, Mares no longer has the legs to even outbox Davis at this stage of his career either.

Agreed. Would you say Davis hits harder than Santa Cruz? If so, Mares doesn't stand a chance.

Yes, he punches several times harder than Santa Cruz who is just your typical arm volume puncher with little to no snap or pop on his punches. That's why he is able to throw more than 1200 them a fight because they are slow, wild and lacks timing and accuracy.

The only thing Mares will see is Tank's hook, then the canvas. All of this 'I see something' talk is dumb. All boxers "see" something. SMH
