Floyd co-signing him as the future etc. Not sure how much of it is legit but 1 Million on the gram ain't nothing to scoff at. He hasn't done half of what AB has done & has surpassed him in followers. Davis earns because Tank is a one punch KO artist and just like Gatti he's exciting. But special? IMO he doesn't appear to be much better than Gatti, faster yes but that's it. People love KO artists and he'll be a draw as long as he doesn't run into a fighter like Lomachenko because that fight plays out like a Maywether/Gatti sequel for the very same reason...Master boxer beats a limited puncher

I think all that you are saying is true, Floyd can't share the light and for that reason he's a counter productive promoter. I will say that Floyd understands the game and plays it well but he just can't seem to allow another fighter to out shine him. Floyd also has a great ring IQ and knows that Tank needs to be matched with the right opponents. In the later Floyd has been doing a good job, Mares is good example.

These are some of the people in & around his weight. Not to mention others we may not know on the come up. I think Davis is a good fighter but I'm not sold on special. I feel it has been told hes more special than hes shown but we will see what happens when he fights other highly regarded people. You can't just be special by your promoters saying it, you have to beat respected fighters & it's not a forgone conclusion he beats all or any of the fighters I named.

Unsure if this is a troll post on you're just forgetful but there's plenty of famous thugs including one he's been compared to on various occasions.

Floyd wasn't famous when he beat Hernandeza. Floyd became known when he started spouting "best ever that laced up the gloves". Although Floyd is smarter and more articulate than Davis, Tanks attitude is actually a promotional asset.

I tend to agree with Ellerbe and his assessment that maintaining focus is the key for Davis. We have seen indications though of Davis' not staying focused such as not making weight and his choice of friends like Broner. If he can make the right choices then he'll succeed if not he's going to destroy his life and career.

Badou Jack?

When did Badou become a star?(I must've missed that 1),Because with Jack all I've seen is a fighter who already had been kod(by a journeyman) before Floyd signed him,& who is 35 yrs old already,& who a t every press conference/event floyd has made it all about himself. If your referring to Jack facing the best available opponents that floyd let him face,its still only because hes 35 & floyds cashing him out,& because floyd knows jack will never be able to take attention away from him like tank can do if he defeats a loma type "star"

Mayweather Promotions has done a great job for Badou Jack.

They can do the same and more for Davis who is more talented than Jack, he just has to listen to his team.

I became a Jack fan. The guy keeps fighting though challenger back to back and he is a well mannered, well spoken guy. War Jack!!
