If Mikey went after Porter, Crawford (I understand the problem with TR) and eventually Thurman, then this limited fans (me) perspective would have been satisfied.....Spence to me, is a sophisticated TOUGH, rangy, one-dimensional brawler. If Mikey is able to carry his new added strength and weight as naturally as his prior, then hell yeah I think he could beat Spence.

I see what Mikey sees, but damn, I think Mikeys underestimating that "power" factor! Mikey is feeling himself, but he's beaten guys that haven't been picked by "us" the fans. His best win to me was the nomadic unfocused, peer pressurized Adrien Broner.....I think Mikey stands no chance against the 3 I initially mensioned..on pure skilz and aggression (Porter) alone!....Its hard to please boxing fans, so Mikey better not become too pleased in himself....he deserves props nevertheless....Imo, he's too big for Loma....

Exactly. Loma made it well known he wanted Mikey. Meanwhile Mikey was busy jumping around weight classes. Read Breadmans latest mailbag thread where he explains how many fighters jump and juggle weight classes to actually duck opponents.

At first I thought Mikey was sounding ****y which is out of character for him, but then I realized he’s just standing up for himself. You gotta do that from time to time. But in all honesty he’s right about going after those big challenges. He won a world title against a former killer in his second fight back. He went up on weight to win a belt in a fourth division and outpointed a bigger fighter in Adrien Broner. Now he’s going for a fifth division belt against arguably the best at welterweight. Mikey’s The man. War Mikey!

Mikey has a lot of options! 140 is on fire with Hooker, Baranchyk, and Prograis! Tank and Devin Haney will both be available @ 135! Finally, Pacquiao and DSG are better opponents for Mikey @ 147! Mikey is only 31, so barring injury, his future is very bright!

That's the problem! Bob lost the lawsuit! Bob was robbing Mikey, and tried to ruin Mikey! Mikey is the clear winner! AT & T Stadium in a PPV fight with the best WW in the world! Loma is small change compared to that!

Mikey looked great beating Lipinets, Broner and Easter. However, jumping to 147 and fighting a monster in Spence in his first fight at the weight is not very smart. He would find out come fight night how big and strong Spence is. Him vs Pacquiao even at 40 could be a hell of a fight at 147 though.

The bottom line is that this fight is good for boxing! Spence is probably too big and strong for Mikey but the fight is intriguing and people are talking about it. That's a good thing. Both should be in great shape and put on a show!

Mikey pointed this out in the article. Lomachenko has been mentioning his name since 2016 but he always seems to fight someone else.

Pedraza being the most recent example.

Rather than keep waiting on him Mikey decided to move up to fight a bigger, more dangerous opponent. You don't duck somebody by taking on a tougher fight.
