    Lucas Browne vs Luis Ortiz

Both have similar records, but who has the better career? Let's take a look at the silverware they've won and their best 3 wins.

    Lucas Browne (27-1-0 24KOs)
    Toney (74-7-3)
    Rudenko (24-0-0)
    Chagaev (34-2-1)
    Titles won: 8
    World titles won: 2

    Luis Ortiz (30-1-0 26KOs)
    Jennings (19-1-0)
    Scott (38-2-1)
    Kauffman (32-2-0)
    Titles won: 6
    World titles won: 0

On this evidence you have to say Lucas Browne is the better proven fighter.

The better win is against the undefeated Rudenko, and he won 2 world titles.

Ortiz has never beaten anyone of note and I don't see what all the fuss is about.

Thompson was much younger than Toney. He can't of been much older than Chagaev either. Thompson wasn't all that long coming off some fairly solid wins unlike Toney who hadn't beaten a top 100 opponent in a decade and Rudenko whose never beaten a top 100 opponent ever.
I don't think Chagaev had beaten a top 100 opponent either in 5 maybe 10 years.

British fans need to stop dismissing fighters to then praise Browne, Hughie by bringing up guys like Rudenko whose even worse than many Ortiz and Wilder opponents. Who is Rudenko's best win? Like a 30-20 journeyman?

Jennings would beat all those versions easily, Browne included. Malik Scott likely outboxes them all also

Ortiz beat a top 10 opponent, many top 20.

None of those Browne beat were ranked apart from Chagaev who the WBA probably still have '1 to this day.

Wrong. Thompson was 44/45 when Ortiz beat him. Toney was about the same age when Browne beat him. Thompson had also lost to Scott, Takam, Pulev and his fight with Ortiz was his last.

Lucas Browne is clearly the more proven fighter with a better resume and better top win.

Ok they were about the same age I stand corrected.
Still Thompson was much fresher than Toney at that point and had some good performances not all that long back. Toney had been shot for a decade and was disgustingly out of shape prior to fighting Browne.
Thompson had several upset wins over ranked opposition.

Thompson had something left in the tank, Toney was as past it as any fighters ever been.

I can't get Boxrec up when was Toneys last win over someone solid? His win over Holyfield? That must be 20yrs ago? lol

                  Ortiz resume is garbage.

Wilders only win on his record is a an old garbage collector.

Embarrassing that some people hype this dude up.

Chagaev hadn't beaten anybody in at least 5yrs and needed a gift decision to get by Fres Oquendo who was about 83 hows that a better win than Jennings?
