For the last few months, Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya has been pushing the slogan of "pay-per-view is dead." Last year, De La Hoya's company signed a five year deal with streaming service DAZN. Golden Boy had previously been aligned with HBO, who in 2018 made a network decision to drop boxing from their programming plans for the future.

Didn't he say PPV will be dead and Showtime will be out of boxing by the end of this year?

The ONLY people saying it is dead are people trying to sell us a APP but no it will never die! If it is a big fight with interesting fighters involved regardless if it is Boxing or MMA...PEOPLE WILL BUY!

Of the three PPVs mentioned in the article Top Rank has the worst one.

Pac-Broner? A legend against a notorious loudmouth punk that can sort of fight, should be entertaining.

Spence-Garcia? The best welterweight in the world against a top P4P fighter moving up for the challenge.

Crawford-Khan? Uh...well, at least Khan is a better opponent for Bud than Luis Collazo.

He right the networks take WAY too much! 50% right off the top and they really do jack sht. 50% to put it on a channel???And HBO was the WORST the last few years.

Showtime putting Pac vs. Broner shouldnt be on PPV but regular Showtime.

Im buying all three but in order of my liking is

                1 Spence/Garcia
                2 Khan/Crawford
                3. Pac/Broner

I think Khan vs. Crawford will be REALLY good and I bet Khan wins some rounds.

Might not die but If they think there going to be having 50 million PPV's in a year like they are trying to do this year they are kidding themselves. They'll see when these upcoming fights don't do good numbers and their basically breaking even.

I know these fighters need to be paid but it's kind of gotten out of hand, everybody wants to be paid like Floyd and not doing no where near Floyd numbers. if these fighters are not able to do decent PPV numbers or attract huge crowds they what are they doing making 3-4-5 million per fight??? They need to be on the networks making somewhere in the 1.5 range like Thurman and Porter did on PBC...
