I agree with most of this. For all the talk of canelo “beating ggg at his own game” in the 2nd fight, he really performed better in the first one...and like you say, inactivity cost him.

Yea agree. I mean both fights to me where within a margin of error that either guy could claim they shoulda won so I disagree with all the "robbery" talk, but for me I had the first fight even (which is why I was never upset with the outcome only that nutty scorecard that had GGG winning 2 rds or w/e) & the 2nd fight 7-5 GGG's way.

I really thought he’d fight a similar fight the second time around and just move his hands a bit more. Instead he marched face first into jabs all night and tried to make it a fire fight. While he gave as good as he got for the most part, it’s not a style that suits him. I feel like on that night he coulda outboxed ggg cleanly, instead of arguably losing a close fight.

Agree again. I thought Canelo would just stamina up a lil & follow the same plan more or less. And I for sure thought GGG was gonna repeat what he did since the consensus was he deserved to win & seemingly his adjustments should have been minimal if not simply being more aggressive + with more body shots to slow Canelo down more & sooner.

To me this 2 fight rivalry, thus far, was extremely odd in how both guys reversed what they did the first time around so drastically. I can't think of many rematches or trilogies where guys seemingly reversed strategies so strongly & it was still such a close competitive up for grabs fight.

I think most people are sleeping on how good fight 1 was! Canelo did a lot of amazing things! You can really say that Canelo in both fights destroyed a lot of narratives! But al in all I personally watched fight one about 20 times and fight 2 just once and that was live! Fight 3 IRDGAFawk about because it’s like the only one that has anything to prove is Golovkin but his fans are in love with him so much they don’t put any kind of pressure on him to prove anything! It’s pointless because I know Canelo will win by even better margin or KO but the ggg fans will always make an excuse to praise ggg

First one is forgettable but rematch was exciting. It was a surprise because I didnt expect Canelo to box while moving forward. He basically took the fight to GG.
