Is Tenshin's career finished after that beating?

Kid is only 20, but man..... Talk about a beating. Kid has never lost in his life.

Would like to say it didn't matter as it was all in fun, but I don't know Japanese culture. Someone told me the Japanese are very honorable people and since Tenshin may have felt like he let his people down, he may call it quits for good.

A shame if he does. Kid is actually very quick.

It may have hurt his future marketability, his prodigal aura dissolved after seeing him flail around despondently. When people see him again that will be their enduring image of him. That kid Mayweather beat up

As the saying goes; 'Once you go black there's no getting ur lyfe bak on trak.'

Sad. The Japanese were punished enough by the USA in WW2

I guess it depends on what fans of his sport in Japan expected.

Did they expect he could compete with Floyd or not? - If so, then obviously his reputation has taken a big hit. If they were sensible and understood he could never win, then what does it matter?

A loss shouldn't mean the end for anybody though. Plenty of top MMA fighters have a fair few losses on their records. Different sport and more expected when you have guys coming from all different fighting backgrounds coming together. Styles make fights is even more of a thing in MMA.

That's just silly. If Ussain Bolt lost to Federer in a tennis match, would that have ended Bolt's career? Even the GOAT boxer Muhammad Ali arguably lost to the Japanese wrestler Inoki in a mixed-rules match. Would that take anything away from Ali's legacy as a GOAT boxer? People need to understand that these are different sports.

As for the Japanese, while honour does mean a lot to them, they're also known for being highly intelligent people. Japanese fight fans are smart enough to understand that boxing and kickboxing are two different sports. It would be silly for them to abandon Nasukawa just because he did badly in a different sport.
