They provide a court date and very clearly explain that you can pay prior to the court date or come to court to contest it. They make it very clear when you don’t show to court or pay a warrant will be issued for your arrest. They don’t actively go searching for you for unpaid traffic tickets. If you are stopped they will discover you have unpaid tickets. The moral to the story

He had to go before a judge in order to enter a plea. Paying the ticket was not an option for him. He either had to plead not guilty or guilty before a judge after the prosecuting attorney discusses a plea deal with him; Which often results as the prosecuting attorney throws out all or part of the case. If he pleads guilty to some counts then the judge will fine him. If he pleads not guilty to no counts then the judge would schedule a trial date in order for him to prove his case.
