What went wrong with "Kid Chocolate" Peter Quillin?

First of all, I think he's extremely skilled. Accurate, not afraid to walk through fire. Watched his fight against Hassan N'Dam again and it got me wondering...what went wrong? I mean N'Dam got dropped so many times I lost count, but he was never weak or wobbled, he kept on fighting back.

Andy Lee gave him all he could handle, but Andy Lee is a tough SOB. Jacobs walked through him but arguably, the ref should not have waved that.

It's like he doesn't have enough power to do anything against B-levels and he doesn't have enough skill to deal with top fighters. So what's the problem with him?

Imo it's age. He wasn't 26 when he faced Jacobs he was in his like 33. I know we've seen some freaks of nature lately with Hopkins, Pacquiao and Mayweather being aged and still looking great but most decline with age.

Isn't he one of the fighters on the Netflix documentary "Counter Punch"?

That seemed to mention where stuff started going wrong if I remember right.

He's fighting Caleb Truax next. DeGale gets the winner!

I'm anti-Netflix, but stumbled on this Boxcaster channel, with this video with him:

Jacobs took his heart. One sign of a great champion is someone who can recover from a KO loss. How does he handle it mentally?

Nothing happened, a good fighter who got KOd by a better fighter.

I think the issue is that anyone worth a damn gets hyped into the stratosphere or gets put down as a bum when they run into difficulties.

There is no common sense with boxing fans, no middle ground. It's always two extremes.
