First off, even MMA guys know the last place you want to be in a street or bar fight is on the ground. And people act like boxers don’t know other tactics too, most boxers I know can throw elbows and dirty box at a high level. And most have also dealt with low kicks. A high level boxer usually KOs a decent MMA guy in the street. Too fast and too accurate.

Just to touch on this point, Charlo fans were complaining that he only had a week to game plan for Korobov

Bringing up McGregor's tougher fights doesn't change the fact that he's dominated various "elite" MMA fighters with just his left hand and slightly better than average athleticism and size had nothing to do with the trouble he had against Diaz and Khabib. Diaz is Diaz, a tough extremely durable opponent for anyone within several weight classes and Khabib? Khabib?? Don't even talk to me about Khabib. Khabib went for Conor's legs within the first 15 seconds of the first round like a B*TCH. Everyone on Earth knew Khabib was guaranteed a win if he could get the fight on the ground and he made the coward move. The easy move. Instantly.

          HHmmmm.....

Even in street fights, its all about them hands.
But ''cheating'' (kicking, grappling) is part of street fights.

A ''top'' anything should always do better than an ''average'' version.

If a boxer can't prevent a takedown, it's game over.

All fights start out with guys swinging, then grabbing and then falling all over the ground. Boxer always has the advantage in the beginning, all they really need is good take down defense.

Having good hands is essential in a street fight, BUT everyone knows that all you got to do with PURE BOXERS, is to take them off there feet, which is too easy, ground and pound or submit for the finish.

But what if that boxer was also a good judoka, would that even the playing field?

I can only imagine what Tyson would have done to man to man huggers.
Actually it is documented. He fought Mitch Green in the street and keep in mind that both guys have street fighting experience as well as boxing. The nasty injury was on the eye of Green...Needed a Tbone to put on that eye...The really bad injury? Mike Tyson seriously damaged his hand.

Boxers often damage the hands in street fights. Yes, if they catch a guy correctly they do well, but if you have even been around a place where fights happen lots a times you will see that boxers are not trained to hit with no gloves and this presents a problem. It also presents a problem for untrained idiots who throw wild punches.

I often give one incident that stands out when I was bouncing as an example of what happens when a logical, predictable, fighting system, goes to the street! There was a young man, twenties...and he was one of those guys with a face that just seemed to have a sign that said "punch me!." Yes this kid was a trouble maker!!!

He got into trouble in the bar next to us, and here come three very big, very angry college aged bouncers.... Vegas odds anyone? Bouncers 100 to 1? What if I told you this trouble making kid, was scared for his life, had no training in how to fight, yet in the next minute 3 bouncers would be in bad shape and he would be untouched? HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?!

Ok so kid is on the street and being a real piece of work, first bouncer gets behind him, second bouncer launches a hard shot, kid probably pisses on himself! ducks...bouncer's fist and wrist slam into parking meter (Kaboom!!) Broken hand for bouncer number one. Bouncer number two falls over scared kid who has ducked, breaks head on sidewalk, Sleep for bouncer number two.... Kid runs off down the alley.

The street is an unpredictable environment where many things come into play. Even when you have skills you never know what will happen.

MMA guys can get in trouble going to the ground, boxers can get in trouble hitting bad surface areas... The person who wins is the person who trains for the situation at hand.

Hell naw. Everybody I hit on the street looks like a dead body and I was never a power puncher in the ring. Barely even touch them and they spark out.
