I really try to be objective. Did I miss something. I’ve defended Wilder in this past but I don’t see any recent “killers” he has fought back to back. Is Stiverne a killer? His best win was against Chris Arreola. Did he give a rematch to Ortiz? Has the Fury rematch been “officially” made yet? Wilder just sounds ignorant.

I tend not to get too involved in all this crap but feel like something should be mentioned here: Anthony Joshua is an Ambassador to Sky Sports. He is no doubt contracted (which is generally legally binding) to fight on Sky Sports. The only reason the rival were putting up the money was in order to get Joshua on their network, which simply would not fly with Joshua being in a legally binding contract with Sky Sports.

It's laughable to expect something like that to fly... nor is it reasonable to expect Sky to pay for the privilege of showing Joshua in the UK when they have already paid for that privilege.

This isn't the same situation as HBO and Showtime over in the States where networks can work together because unlike those Joshua is directly funded by Sky.

The offer was for a 2 fight deal that would gave meant $80M and 50%. Pacquiao didn't have to sign to Showtime to fight Mayweather. Mayweather didn't become UFC property to get McGregor. In both situations you had fighters contracted exclusively to promoters or rival networks who said that the fight wouldn't happen, only for those fights to happen and everybody get stinking rich. You really don't think that rivals become allies to make money? Some people are treating this like networks are street gangs.

So AJ got the WBA a belt from the Klitschko fight.

He then fought Takam as a replacement to Pulev as the IBF Mando ordered before AJ even fought Klitscko for WBA. Meanwhile Ortiz and his team failed to fill in form dropping WBA rankings whilst at the same time choosing to go with Wilder instead and getting KO'd.

AJ then fought Parker for unification.

And after that Povetkin to fulfill WBA Mando after Wilder talks broke down.

So since the only voluntary fight was the unification with Parker, you're saying AJ should have fought Ortiz a month after Wilder knocked him out instead of unifying?
