Does boxing help you become better at street fights?

The most brutal street knockouts ever (WARNING: VERY BRUTAL)

I notice most street fights are standing. So, if someone is a great boxer and has good takedown defence, that would easily make him much better at street fights correct?

I think the opposite is also true. Those who practise and do good in street fights can apply their striking skills to boxing.

    What do you guys think?

A trained fighter (boxing or mma) beats the untrained 90/100 times.

That said if you're training for street glory you'll never have success. Theres a reason Kimbo Slice couldnt box or MMA, but looked like a monster against guys who didnt know what they were doing

      When you train,

You have a much higher chance to land your shots and

You have a much higher chance to block or slip your opponents shots.

That are the basics, but you still need to have the mentality for rough street fighting.

Used to go to school with a boxer , he knocked George Groves down before losing to him in a commonwealth fight so he was a very good boxer mind .
He could beat the **** out of grown men when he was 13 years old

If you have some real boxing skills, with good power, you'd beat 99% of normal street guys with ease. Most idiots who look for trouble, etc on the streets don't know a left hook from a handbag. Skill in any form of fighting will of course help you massively. It will also help you read your opponents moves, as guys who don't have any real ability just fight blindly/wildly.

Any form of unarmed combat training will improve your chances in a street fight. Traditional wisdom is that the grappling arts are probably more practically useful in more situations, but 9 times out of 10 even rudimentary boxing technique will be more than enough to deal with the random **** that comes up outside a bar or whatever.
