    How good was Michael Grant?

This guy was a little before my time, but before the Lewis fight, the commentators were hyping him up saying he was going to be the next great heavyweight champ. He was very tall at 6'7 and very young, but Lewis obliterated him. I haven't watched any of his previous fights, but the media was making you think he was the next greatest thing.

So any of you follow his career?

A typical American hypejob. Hailed as the best in the World before he'd fought a live opponent, etc.

Probably similar to AJ but Grant never had the luxury of picking up vacant titles against easy opposition and then ducking the best fighters.

I’m not sure what one of the other posters up here calling Grant a American Hype Job.
Relax dude , I saw Mike Grant live quite a few times down in Atlantic City. Was Grant a legendary Heavyweight No.
Did he have some good wins early in his career yes.
I saw him fight Obed Sullivan who was a very tough former marine. I also saw him fight a very game David Izon.
Look is he going to make you forget about Joe Frazier or George foreman anytime soon absolutely not.
But to call him a Hype job that’s just being a total hoarses A**
        And that’s that

            Whatever pal,
You don’t know if boxing gloves are filled with air or stuffed with feathers.
This is the reason why i can’t waste time posting here.
I try to make a honest assessment of a fighter in which I said was no legend but a top 10 Heavyweight in his short time as a contender.
So you scumbags can go scratch your ass with a broken bottle.
            Not once , but twice

He was no worse than Wilder and Joshua. If he was in his prime today, you cAn bet your ass that he will beat these tomato cans like Parker and chisora.

                  Grant wasnt bad at all.

About the same as Mike Tyson. As soon as he fought real quality he lost. Come to think of it, him and Tyson would have been a good 50-50 scrap.
