    Hey, boliodogs!

Jermall Charlo struggled with boxrec's 54th rated fighter (44th now at Middleweight). Since their ratings are of such importance, how well would Jeff Horn do against Jermall Charlo? Boxrec's current #3 and #5 at 160.

Jermall would easily KO Horn. Boxrec ratings aren't always correct and I never said they were. I only brought up Korovov's boxrec rating to show how what a mediocre fighter he is because boxrec rates all boxers in the world from the best to the worst and most other places only rate the top 10 or 15. Nobody else had Korobov ranked at all. Not the WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF, Ring Magazine, ESPN,Boxing Scene etc. Nobody. So to quote a rating on him I had to use boxrec to make my point. If Korobov was so good don't you think somebody would rate him somewhere and boxrec would rank him higher than 54th? After his good showing boxrec raised him to 44th and he is probably better than 44th but he is still an average boxer that Jermall was supposed to easily KO. Boxrec has Horn way overrated. I am no huge boxrec fan who thinks their ratings are great but they are the only place that ranks every fighter in the world in every weight class. When a champion cherry picks a poor fighter to defend their title against and I want to complain I sometimes need to turn to boxrec. The guy is so bad that only boxrec ranks him. Lara once defended his title against a guy that nobody but boxrec ranked and boxrec ranked the guy 100th in the world for example. I hope this explains my point of view but if not ask my what ever questions you want.

Mediocre how? Are you aware of his pedigree? The guy was ranked so low only because of his inactivity. He spent 4 years in limbo because Arum dropped him. He's by no means a bad fighter.

I wonder how the fight would have went if korobov had been training for a 12 rounder.

You can't just make claims like this based off of...nothing. Why would Korobov be 44th instead of 54th? Based on what???...

The guy Jermall is also completely unproven. Some ranking orgs suggest Jermall is a Top 5 MW...why??? He went life and death with a guy who picked up the fight on short notice...has been KTFO before...and has a horrific resume the last 4-5 years...literally hasn't fought more than 8 rounds in F O U R years against terrible competition. It's humiliating to go life-and-death with someone like that while claiming guys like Canelo, Gennady, etc.

Jermall just isn't that good. He's very linear and ordinary. Never saw what others claimed to see and never understood why ESPN, The Ring, Stephen WhiteBreadman, or any of the other fools on this board started boosting this guy like the next coming.

Literally every Top MW beats Charlo...GGG, Canelo, Jacobs, BJS (BJS would humiliate and NOT KO Charlo), Andrade, and probably Dervenchenko.

I see no reason to **** on Korobov just because some of us like Canelo, GGG, Jacobs, ect more than Charlo.

No I did not know all that. I didn't study him and his career. I went by the fact that I had never heard of him and nobody ranked him. I was unable to see the Jermall fight because they didn't show it were I lived. From what you tell me I think I jumped to a wrong conclusion and he is a decent fighter and better than mediocre which would explain why he apparently fought even with Jermall. Many who did see the fight think he beat Jermall from what I read on this forum. I will watch the fight ASAP. I do know Horn from the Pacquiao and Crawford fights and I think both Jermall and Korobov beat him on neutral ground. I base that on what I have seen from Jermall in the past and Korobov fighting so well against Jermall.

Did I say I liked Jermall or thought he was good? No, I just got in trouble for saying he went life or death with an unranked unknown mediocre fighter. I have backed off of that and said the guy was probably pretty good. I don't think much of Jermall and I agree he is very unproven at middleweight. I agree that GGG, Canelo, Jacobs, BJS and Dervenchenko would all beat Jermall. I don't agree Andrade would beat him. I think Andrade is just as unproven at 160 as Jermall and call that an even fight.

Korovov was ranked so low because he had only 4 fights in 4 years, against mediocre opponents, since getting KO'd by Andy Lee, and he looked mediocre himself in a 6 rounder against a journeyman last time out.

It sounds like I had it right the first time and Korobov is a mediocre fighter who Jermall should have knocked out if he was as good as he and some of his fans claim he is. Time will tell if either Jermall or Korobov are that good or not.
