I felt that there was something wrong with that penalty.

Could you also clear this up for me?

On boxrec I've see these two things where the "ko" or "ud" is usually.

"RTD" and "TD" What does that mean? Oh yeah, just to refresh, "MD" is majority decision right?

lol I can't believe I've forgotten this much..
TD is technical decison, when a fight is stopped on account of an accidental foul after four round have been completed, and they then go to the scorecards to decide a winner. Similar to a baseball game being rained out.

As far as RTD, I'm unsure. What fights had that verdict, maybe I can clear it up with an example.

RTD stands for Retired. As in stopped fighting, not actually retiring like not fighting again.

        RTD is similar to TKO.

I think it has something to do with the fighter not being able to fight due to injury.

Vitali Klitschko's loss to Byrd was RTD, he was way ahead on scorecards, but injured his shoulder, and couldn't continue.

As for RTD, i think it has something to do with Retired Technical decision or something of that nature.
It is an old term, used more often in the 60's and 70's I think. I have a feeling it was how they scored a corner retirement or injury back then, because Muhammad Ali vs Joe Fraizer is officially scored a RTD in the 14th round, and Ali Holmes was an RTD in the 11th.

Right, but it was a corner retirement because of an injury.
For example, Kirk Johnson twisted his knee against Javiar Mora but lost a TKO because he couldnt get up.
I see them spring up in older fights more often though.

If its just for injury though, the RJJ vs Eric Harding should have been ruled an RTD in round 11.
