But looking at those numbers, seems like they did fairly well for the 18-49 demo. Not so good in the 50+ range, but I'm sure they rather do well in the 18-49 demo.
NFL was not on network tv. And this basically did what 1.6M viewer's on network tv. 2 weeks ago ESPN which is on cable TV in less homes did 1.86M viewer's for lomachenko. ESPN Boxing shouldn't be beating FOX Boxing cards. FOX competition last night was NBC, CBS, ABC who all aired reruns and drew much higher ratings then FOX who aired PBC. This is PR spinning comparing the numbers to past PBC cards that drew worse.

Being on network TV or not, the NFL was their competition yesterday.

And the broadcast average will be higher than 1.69 million. I bet in total it will be close to the 2 million range with the main event surpassing that.

ESPN is going to beat that with good lead ins and with big names like Crawford/Lomachenko. Without a good lead in, those two wouldn't get the ratings they got. The 18-49 demo for the card ranked the 2nd highest or on par with all the other shows minus SNL.

NFL ratings on NFL Network are no where near the same as they are on network tv and the other major networks also aired last night and drew damn double these ratings. I don't know why you keep bringing up NFL and all these excuses. Fact is these aren't great ratings nothing more then PR spin comparing this to only to past bad PBC ratings and not comparing to last night's competition FOX went up against. On another night maybe no NFL helps but on almost any other night you also don't go head to head with NBC, ABC, CBS airing strictly reruns which helped PBC. And still they finished dead last.

Are NFL Networks ratings lower than say if the game was on FOX or NBC? Of course, but doesn't mean the game wasn't boxing's competition yesterday, because it was. It was the other main sporting event taking place at the same time.

And bringing that up is not an excuse. It's reality, Why would there need to be any excuse? The numbers for this card will be on par with the best UFC card on FOX in 2018, or even surpass it. This isn't about comparing the numbers to the other PBC on FOX cards this year that involved mediocre fighters like Berto/Ortiz/etc.

What kind of numbers were you expecting for this card? Were you expecting a 3 million average or something? Most were predicting an average around 2 million and that is what you will get, with the main event peaking above that.

You making too many excuses bringing up 1 NFL game that wasn't on network or basic cable on a night with NO live competition on network tv. No major NCAA Football games no UFC fights no boxing fights at the same time on ESPN, HBO, Showtime, DAZN. No major NBA games. It was a light sports night with nothing on newtork TV and still PBC finished dead last in network ratings. It drew 1.6M overnight which isn't good stop pretending because PR from PBC says so makes it so.

Why would I make an excuse when there is no need to make one? Huh?

So tell me what you were expecting. What kind of numbers did you expect this card to get?

The problem is these cards usually are two hour slots. Simpsons, The James Brown Show, etc are half hour shows. So the PBC would have to put on just a one fight card to pull it off. I know the UFC used to get NFCCG lead ins, so it is possible for the PBC to get one eventually as well.

FOX did 1.83M last week Saturday night same timeslot also had NFL football, Canelo fight on DAZN, NBA and more live programing competition. There was nothing PBC had to deal with this week in comparison and still they didn't even crack a 2M overnight rating and FOX finished dead last. The numbers speak for themselves they weren't great. Fox debuted PBC on FOX with 2.5M. Now getting 1.6M on a dead sports night isn't good.

LOL, the average of the broadcast won't be 1.6 million when the numbers get officially released, and the main event will eclipse the 2 million mark.

He's been hating on PBC since the beginning. Everything he predicted about PBC has been wrong. Years ago I kept telling him HBO would be out of boxing before PBC and he'd argue me up and down all day long.

Some people can't admit they were wrong and move along
