Deontay, Fury, Joshua, who is the best?

Did he fight better because he could? Fury didn't let him?
Joshua certainly is the best textbook boxer of the 3, I strongly think the textbooks should be updated because clearly unorthodox dynamic styles like Fury's are better than more rigid left brained scientific style technique (like wlad/Joshua's), this is a predominantly right brained activity after all. Same goes for Fury's personality style vs Wlads personality style, wlad has a phd, and strong knowledge of psychology etc, and yet when they interacted socially who totally dominated? The right brain dominant less ego bound Fury. The left brain is cumbersome when its running the show, both in your character and in the ring.Last edited by AlexKid; 12-21-2018, 02:33 AM.Comment

AJ deserves the number one spot right now but Fury could be the one to depose him. I think he'll do it.
Wilder's a distant third in my opinion. In terms of his ability and what he's done. Without a belt he's completely irrelevant to the discussion... and by rights he shouldn't have a belt anymore.Comment

Ok well it looks like most of you have Joshua in the lead.AJ deserves the number one spot right now but Fury could be the one to depose him. I think he'll do it.

I can see him coming forward cutting the ring down and getting inside being able to take a shot better than wlad so being able to get inside and do damage better vs Fury. (better than wlad that is) (a near retirement wlad)
Hes also a very good boxer skill wise, plus with the extra durability, it multiplies the overall effectiveness when compared with Wlad
But hes fighting Deontay 1st and I see that as a far more dangerous fight for Joshua a worse match up stylistically.Last edited by AlexKid; 12-21-2018, 04:41 AM.Comment

1. Fury
Seems to have elite level movement and overall skill, he's backed up a very good performance over Wlad with a schooling of Wilder where he wasn't even at 100%.
Can switch up, fight inside and outside, has a fantastic chin.
The only knock on him is his power is only slightly above average, if he was even a Chris Areolla level puncher he'd be damn near unbeatable.
2. Joshua
Very solid all round boxing skills, plus physicality and power.
Joshua is actually underrated when it comes to skills, he is a solid counter puncher, can adapt his gameplan in the ring (shown in povetkin fight) can fight inside, at mid range and to an extent from long range. And his power is enough to be a serious concern against anyone.
Where Joshua is lacking is he isn't brilliant from long rang, he's just ok. His jab is underdeveloped, as seen against Klitschko, who had him in trouble from range but had no answers when Joshua came forward. Also he starts a little slow, and stamina is somewhat questionable but seems to be improving.
3. Wilder
Has AAA power, but really not much else.
Has good reach and ring coverage, but is inaccurate, sloppy, defensively prone, poor balance, average jab, poor shot selection, and can't adapt in the ring.
His power is truly elite level, so of course he's always got a chance but he's only fought two good fighters and one (who was 40 and honestly not really that good) almost ko'd him and the other schooled him 10-2Comment

Joshua needs to be agressive from the opening bell against Wilder.Ok well it looks like most of you have Joshua in the lead.

Come straight forward like he did in round 3 against Wlad and take wilder out.
Wilder takes several rounds to "get his eye in" in order to land that right hand.
If Joshua can close Wilder down and get right in front of him early then he will smash wilder to pieces
IF he tries to box patiently at range then he lets wilder into the fightComment

Yes Joshua and intelligent aggressiveness early is a winning strategy against both men, boxing too cautiously wont work as well, im guessingJoshua needs to be agressive from the opening bell against Wilder.

I still question this about Wilder. He throws bombs with everything behind them. What good standard heavyweight couldn't knock a guy out if they do that?
I rate Fury above Joshua but I think AJ is a harder fight for Wilder. AJ brings real power, he can counter punch and he's just a better boxer. I think Wilder gets sparked out early and convincingly.Comment

Good break down but I think you under estimate Deontay , he has a simple style thats really well honed and effective, its like doing the same thing over and over you get really good at that 1 thing but if you are more spread out you are not so good at everything , hes got tones of power and hes really good at landing the KO, you are looking at him from an overall boxing ability perspective when really all that matters is effectiveness and results and Deontay clearly delivers there1.
