Should be good news, Alvarez and Gvozdyk are both in their 30s, too old to waste time on easier fights and not popular enough to get paid well doing that even if they wanted to. Arum is a cynical cunt and loves to marinate when he has a draw to protect, but here it makes sense to have them unify, the winner gets a career boost, and he'll probably leave the loser inactive for a year or more and then cut them loose. Seems realistic they can unify in 2019. With Beterbiev and Bivol both being on DAZN they can do the same or else be seen as paper champs in comparison.

If Alvarez repeats his victory then Gvozdyk's next three fights could very well be Jack, Ramirez, Alvarez in a unification. If he gets all those in next year that's three consecutive FOTY for Ukrainian fighters.

Lmaaaooo. The Stevenson fight showed me Jack would get ktfo by Gvozdyk and dominated by Bivol. Jack was scared to throw anything meaningful for 5 rounds vs a 41 year old stevenson then finally had success vs Stevenson in 2nd half of the fight and couldn’t beat the old man.

While Gvozdyk was close with Stevenson for a few rounds and then put his foot on the gas and got rid of him. Good thing too cuz they were trying to rob him and called his first knockdown a slip.

Bivol is a strong finisher and would dominate jack over the 2nd half of the fight while gvozdyk would KO Jack.

Badou already has a loss anyway, he's not a champion anyway, he aint some young undefeated star Haymon is worried about getting beat on another network, and then Barrera could join, Joe Smith, etc.

Or is Beterbiev already signed somewhere else? And Bivol?
Beterbiev was signed for a short-term co-promoter deal with Matchroom USA; likely for no more than 3 fights. When that deal is up, as Michel has done with the rest of his fighters, he'll go with a deal that he feels makes the most sense (with input from Haymon).

Bivol is in purgatory at the moment, tbh.

Al Haymon was only his advisor his promoter is Groupe Yvon Michel. GYM. There was a rumour Bob was looking at him since August. It was confirmed I see.

Co promotion with top rank now.
It will open the door for more Quebec fighters.

                Re

OH...I was pretty sure the deck was stacked against Alvarez retaining? If he cant knock Kovalez down or out, and it goes to the cards? Due to the shady Main Events being involved ?

Alvarez is now signed with Top Rank. It's a Top Rank event, Main Events is just a guest co-promoter...I can now make a 99% guarantee, that Alvarez retains . It the REVERSE now: its Kovalev who now needs a KO, or KDs.

I thought he was the #1 contender for WBC?

I did see something about the Browne fight being for the interim so you could be right. They may go the Bivol route.

How does Stevenson losing to Gvozdyk have any effect on Bivol- Jack lmaooo. You’re special. Bivol looked average against a semi retired c level fighter and that is facts. Jack won round 3&4 so your assessment that he was scared to throw for the first 5 rounds is irrelevant and many thought he won. Bivol is a flat footed overrated fighter with over rated power who would lose to Jack Beterbiev and Gvozdyk. He was having trouble with old Pascal and couldn’t even drop him lmaooo and he went another 12 boring rounds with Chilemba. You trying to throw Gvozdyk name in here when it has absolutely nothing to do with the outcome of Bivol-Jack.

Badou Jack resume is 100times better than Bivol resume plus Bivol just faced two back to back old c level fighters and went the distance with them lmaoooo Badou Jack just fought the longest reigning champ and is about to face another young hungry lion Bivol probably fights another washed up retired fighter again wouldn’t be surprised if it was Bhop.

Bivol last 5 fights Pascal, Chilemba, Barrera,Trent Broadherst and Cedric Agnew

^^This has to be the worst/pathetic string of opponents in the last 10yrs for a champion.

Jack last 5 fights Stevenson, Cleverly, Degale, Bute and George Groves.

Don’t compare the two, one fighter is actually daring to be great while the other is feasting on C and D level bums. How can you even make a comparison when Bivol hasn’t faced anyone with a pulse and he is a paper champion who won a vacant title against a bum lol. Who has Bivol faced that makes you think that him and his team actually want a challenge??? They are on their bum of the month tour. Jack>Bivol any day of the week. Who tf would choose to face an irrelevant bum slayer for way less money over the longest reigning champion in the division??? That’s would be ******ed just like pretty much everything you post.
