With only 1/3 of the U.S. population.

Boxing is king in Mexico. Well, Boxing and Soccer.

Even female boxers enjoy huge ratings.

Ca$hnelo, also known as "the face of boxing". I don't know if it would make sense financially but I would like to see how many mexicans he could draw in Mexico's biggest football stadium. The atmosphere would be crazy. I hope Oscar entertains the idea.

and of course there is a risk of failure, as a new brand you should be willing to run that risk...
honestly i can care less if it fails or not, most of the times i get to watch the fights while im in mexico(mostly festive weekends) so i get em for free... real boxing fans should be happy that they dont have to pay $100 for a ppv anymore... but haters will always hate, so it is what it is..
I doubt they hired Canelo to lose money off him. Building the brand is one thing but losing half the money that the contract cost is pitiful. You do realize that there's only a few PPV's a year right? And DAZN cost $10/month. So really there's not much of a difference. DAZN is destined to fail unless they make money in places that normal boxing programming hasn't for it's broadcasting history, that I'm not aware of.

TV ratings are always great in Mexico for their top stars.

LMFAO...so you're suggesting that Ca$hnelo would DOUBLE those views (possibly more than double) with a legitimate opponent

How much did Canelo's PPV cost against GGG? Both times $74.95. That's $150/year which - since you like math - is MORE than $120/year.

And you get all of Anthony Joshua, Danny Jacobs, and possibly other stars. The service is also dedicated to boxing...so the shows/programs/commentators...theyre all good at boxing which is a CONTRAST from ESPN and Stephen A Smith (he now has at least 3 fat chins and makes zero sense) or HBO's Lederman/Merchant/Lampley.

Yeah, I'll take DAZN to get ALL PPV from A.J., Ca$hnelo, Danny J, and more to come.

                  Do the math. Punk

Yup with more people and still basically only the Olympics and Superbowl are pulling Canelo numbers in the US.
