no one really wants DAZN to fail...but....

This right here. They try to compare it to Spotify and Netflix. I could used those two anytime I want and find something to watch or listen to that I want to hear or watch. Same thing with Prime and Showtime. Dazn is $10 but it's content is crap. ESPN+ offers way more content for the half the price. DAZN US has nothing to offer its US customers other than boxing for two days of the month, some Bellator, cycling and cricket? I can't just open the app on a Monday and catch something I wanna watch. Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's better.I hope it succeeds, then boxing fans will get a great service for the price.
The problem is the people working for DAZN are already saying it's great value and comparing it to Netflix, Spotify etc because of the cost. But for great value, you need to provide quality content for the cheap price like those services do, but DAZN don't.Comment

We are paying for that but it comes with way more content not just boxing. DAZN US is garbage regardless of the price. Boxing. Bellator, cycling and cricket? DAZN has no content, I could turn on my tv any time and watch whatever I want to watch. You can't do that with DAZN because they have nothing to offer when their' isn't a live card on. To top it off DAZN boxing, for the most part has been garbage. Hearn's next card is garbage as well. DAZN might be great for people outside the US, but in the US it's garbage right now.Comment

Well the discussion is only about boxing. Other people might not care about other **** the channels show. Good for you that you do.We are paying for that but it comes with way more content not just boxing. DAZN US is garbage regardless of the price. Boxing. Bellator, cycling and cricket? DAZN has no content, I could turn on my tv any time and watch whatever I want to watch. You can't do that with DAZN because they have nothing to offer when their' isn't a live card on. Personally I don't care if it falls or not. I don't have anything against it, but now we are seeing a niche sport being spread too thin.
We now have too many networks competing and keeping their own signings to themselves. What does that mean for fans? More non competitive fights and far less of the fights we actually want to see.Comment

I wish him well on his US venture. I hope all the guys putting Boxing on for us do well.
In an ideal world, there would be less platforms, the fighters would be under less umbrellas and we would get more cross over fights without the need for several subscriptions. The reality though is that's not how it is, or ever will be.
It's expensive to follow at times, but its the same with football over here. The biggest sport in the world and to follow it all, you need BT for some games, SKY for some games. Amazon starting from next season, and BT for the Champions League.
Me personally, I want as many options and as much coverage out there as possible. The more boxing available the better. We don't get DAZN over here, but if through DAZN and Matchroom US we get more fights put over on to SKY. Then I'm happy.
Some of the cards may not be too appeasing for US fans at present, so that 'jump in and out' subscription option is perfect.
If people don't rate it and don't want to subscribe then they shouldn't. They shouldn't want it to fail though as it's an option there for when they want it.
Here, Boxnation had us covered for the bulk of international fights, but it has pulled in it's purse strings of late and it's been a nightmare for boxing fans.
If ITV can fill that void now with the PBC deal, then great, that's excellent news.
Being a boxing fan before coming onto forums, it always surprised me how people wanted other platforms, promoters etc to fail. When i go fights home or abroad I chat to people, it always seems very different from what i read on the internet or twitter.
Wanting DAZN or PBC to fail always baffled me. The same goes with some of the people celebrating HBO's demise.
I know if SKY pulled the plug on boxing, I'd be very dissapointed.
Strayed off topic a little bit there haha.Last edited by Chrismart; 12-20-2018, 10:28 AM.Comment
