  • DAZN Numbers for Canelo/Fielding "Shockingly Low"

This according to Dave Meltzer who pretty much is one of the best sources for PPV numbers for the UFC and WWE Network.

The one good thing about this IF true, it will likely lead to Canelo vs Jacobs if that wasn't already going to happen. DAZN will want to push for the big match ups ASAP and they will be needing Wilder/Joshua as well.

Going to be a loooooong road. But if Canelo, the biggest star in US boxing, can't make it work, forget it fold up tent..

Either the plug will be pulled a lot sooner than we think or they're gonna step in and demand Canelo fight more interesting opponents. Should be interesting.

The public dont want to tune in any more to watch canelo beat a bum or rob a world class fighter. DAZN may have lost themselves a lot of money with this deal and on a side note some of their marketing has been disrespectful to other fighters.

The thing is, it's a new venture stateside so it is definitely going to take a long and most people don’t even know what DAZN is. And the commercials were so damn awful they definitely didn't help this fight out. Instead of people watching the commercials and saying to themselves "Oh Canelo is fighting on the 15th," they were trashing it and never wanting to see it again.

But one thing is clear, there is NO way in hell Joshua/Povetkin did numbers close to what Joshua would do on SHO as Hearn proclaimed after the fight. That was some of the biggest BS he's ever said.

This is pure speculation off a guy who is basically saying the numbers might be low and Dazn won't release the numbers cus it might be low. All speculation. Try again.

Nah, they aren't pulling the plug. More likely they push hard for Canelo to fight Jacobs or GGG soon. They really need the GGG fight all things considered. GGG is still the biggest fight for Canelo and the one fight minus Wilder/Joshua that will bring in major subscribers.

Meltzer is about as legit as they come. He's the guru on UFC PPV numbers. He's definitely plugged in so I wouldn't just dismiss it..

The opponent definitely didn't help and the streaming service is new in America so folks still were probably unaware of how to watch the fight.

But elaborate on how they have been disrespecting other fighters. In their commercials or what?
