Anyone interested in Jermall Charlo vs Sergey Dereyvanchenko next?

Charlo fans say they want to see him in with the best guys. I think the fight everyone most wants to see is Jacobs vs Charlo for the right to face Canelo right after, but if Charlo can't get GGG, Canelo, or Jacobs next, the one guy with an actual PBC connection who has cross-polinated with one of the former-HBO top 3 middleweights and shown himself to be about the same level is Sergey Dereyvanchenko. So why not bring him right back to PBC and let's see how Charlo's performance against him stacks up to Jacobs performance, yeah?

Unless, for some reason, Team Charlo or Al aren't as confident as the fans are that the comparison would flatter Charlo?

The fight I really want to see with both Charlo and Bivol is, well I gave it away, Charlo vs Bivol at 168. My belief is they both walk around at the same weight, at or just below 190 lbs. If you're a new boxing fan and you dont think that's possible, let me just remind you that a 130 lbs champ Gervonta Davis started his Pedraza camp at 163 lbs, and a 135 champ Mikey Garcia, who is actually a better example, said he was over 170 lbs early in the Lipinets camp, and a 147 champ, Crawford, was a ripped 177 lbs to start his Jeff Horn camp. So if 130 to 147 pounders walk around between 160 and 180 lbs, then certainly one of the tallest middleweights, with one of the longest reaches, who is also quite muscular, would typically weigh 185 lbs + naturally at minimum, if not 190. Billy Joe Saunders recently said his natural weight is 189 lbs, and Charlo looks the same size as him. Bivol said his normal weight is 190 as well, so that's why I think Bivol vs Charlo is THE fight to make in 2019.

But, if for some reason Bivol vs Charlo doesn't happen until the second half of 2019 or early 2020, I'd like to see Jacobs vs Charlo, or Charlo vs Dereyvanchenko next.

hahaha there is nooo way in hell that they would put charlo in the ring vs sergiy. NEVER in a million years!

I would absolutely love to see it as well but i know it will never happen. the only reason danny fought him is because there was a belt on the line which danny wanted around his waste very badly so he took the risk.

It’s a risky opponent so yes I’d like to see it but no chance it happens. Charlo will just keep fighting awful opposition until the cashout fight comes in.

How he’s always gotten a pass is strange.

Why would Charlo fight a guy that just lost next when he is the mando for Canelo's WBC belt? He should fight the winner of Jacobs/Derevchenko not the loser.

The WBC ordered a GGG/Charlo fight. That would be the only fighter coming off a "loss" that fans should find acceptable because he is still theoretically above Charlo at MW.

Because boxing should be about great fights! Not about money and belts....

Would I like the fight? Sure, but makes no sense for Charlo.

Sergey just needs to keep fighting to become a mandatory for someone, that should be his goal.

We agree. The best fights are Charlo/Jacobs, Canelo or GGG. I understand that Derevchenko would be a decent matchup but I would think he'd be in with like a Murata.

Actually, he should've been in with Monroe Jr rather than Charlo.

Yeah that would be an interesting fight. Give us some idea where Charlo fits in at Middleweight.

Everyone got a damn problem with fighting him.

He's a high risk fighter that can make you look bad with no reward.
