I'm watching this but they need to have the fights in line before the dates. This is a month away.
Huge Matchroom USA card!

The reality was that Hearn was going to have Andrade fight two bums first to build him up on DAZN. He pretty much got lucky that WBO made Andrade BJS mandatory, which gave him a good fight. But Hearn's plan was to have all the so called top fighters he sign to have showcase fights first, he said it himself. It's Hearn's own fault for not being able to make good fights, especially when he's out there demanding fighters to sign to DAZN in order to make fights with his guys. It's not entirely his fault as he simply doesn't have the stable to put on quality cards. Not enough top fighters and too many dates. I'm not mad at Miller vs Bryan. Wish Andrade would fight someone better but I mean he was set to face BJS which would have been a very good match up. Shouldn't really be building up Linares vs Hooker and should just make it now as they need to have a strong start to 2019 to gain subscribers off the back of Canelo's fight.Comment

The problem is that Hearn is demanding fighters to sign to him and DAZN to fight his guys. His biggest guy is AJ and even if he fought in the US, does DAZN really believe he can bring in the revenue they want and is Hearn going to pay AJ what he is used to. AJ is not Canelo in the US. I feel Hearn is going the DAZN route in the US when he fights here because as much as he clowns Wilders PPV numbers he know AJ will sell as much as Ward and GGG if he puts it on PPV.With Joshua he was always going to fight in America at some point. I have seen this before again and again. You take one or two gimme fights to introduce yourself before the bigger fights. With DAZN I think they are open to working with any promoter, so they are not limited to Matchroom or GBP, which I think is great.Comment

Sure, that was the plan with Andrade as he had been inactive but he didn't want to turn down a title shot so that fight was made. Would have been by far the best match up on DAZN since the launch. But Hearn simply doesn't have the stable to satisfy the amount of dates he has. At least his guys are able to stay active but that's about it.The reality was that Hearn was going to have Andrade fight two bums first to build him up on DAZN. AJ fights are exclusively on sky sports. So AJ would get paid no matter where he fights (U.K or U.S.A). No UK fighter is going to be a PPV star in america unless their dance partner is a PPV magnet. The problem is that Hearn is demanding fighters to sign to him and DAZN to fight his guys. DAZN will never get full rights to any of major sports in the US. NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL have their own streaming services that they can use to show their games if they were to go all in streaming. At most they might land a game or two like Prime does for Thursday Night Football. DAZN got some deal with MLB, but all that is is a show that will show live highlights like some of the ESPN, MLB Network and FS1 shows already do. DAZN is great for other countries but its will never be that great in the US.DAZN is fine right now. All they will do is adjust their boxing budget and give majority of it to GBP if Matchroom USA can't improve their stable. Boxing in the long run won't be that important to DAZN, or at least not nearly as important as NFL or NBA or MLB.
What i predicted almost a month ago when it was obvious Hearn's stable wasn't improving is that DAZN would make him have Joshua fight in the states once a year. They BADLY need Joshua vs Wilder, or to a lesser extent Fury but not sure if that will be possible. If they want it, they will have to pay a crazy license fee for it. I'm talking like $12-15 million. Will they do it if the fight takes place in the UK? I'd guess yes, but then we will see if Wilder's team will be fine with the fight not being on SHO.
But I think at this point we should be expecting Joshua fighting in the states once a year and then once in the UK. It will start soon with Miller and then possibly Wilder in 2020 if they have a two fight deal.Comment

They don't need full rights to any of the sports leagues. Even getting one NFL game like TNF would be huge. But it's too early to talk about what they will or will not get. That is just speculation. The point is, boxing isn't determining if DAZN will be a success or not.DAZN will never get full rights to any of major sports in the US. We’ve had to put up with this sh** in the UK for years. We’ve got Whyte-Chisora on PPV for f**ks sake😂😂Eddie Hearn to the rescue again! Here to save us from American promoters, bad fights and pay per view when the main event of Demetrius Andrade putting his WBO Middleweight Championship of the world against Artur Akavov! Pay per view quality!!!
Also Big Baby vs TBA. Wondering who they’re pulling out of retirement for that mismatch.
“He’s taking ova doe”🤣🤣Comment

Hearn has failed in the US just like we all knew he would. Much vaster and completely different market.Hearn can spin it however he wants but he did not intend to have such a weak start.
Bare in mind at the DAZN announcement he listed his target signings as Mikey Garcia, Charlo brothers, Wilder, Thurman, Porter, Broner, Tank Davis etc and he has failed to land any of them.
Who's the best USA name he's signed? Either Andrade or Jessie Vargas.
He better hope that AJ keeps winning.
The big fish jumped out the small pond and straight into the ocean.Comment
