Canelo really exposed GGG as being the biggest fraud in boxing.

****. I can only go back 200 posts in my history. Must be a way to go further back, surely? Anyways... I go out of my way to avoid being too much the hypocrite.. don't always manage it but in this case I was on point I think.

Hell. Even Loma himself said it wasn't that big a win cos of the size difference. Why am I gonna argue with the man himself.
Good post. I knew you were fair minded. That's all I wanted to know. I couldn't Green K, maybe next time.

no its not bad luck to get 2 titles handed to you outside the ring andyet noone world class until you are 34.

how on earth can that happen that you fight noone world class till u r 34 if u got 2 titles? ggg is the opposite of what you claim.

question is why u dont see the obvious, and read the opposite of it..

Legal problems meant that his career couldn't get going in the US til he was near 31 and then only with a minor league promoter in K2 (Arum wouldn't touch him cos of his legal issues with Universum) who didn't have the influence or stable to get him good fights. And what good fights were there at that time? Martinez, Chavez, Pirog, Sturm. Pirog fell out injured, Sturm was protected by the WBA, Chavez and Martinez fought each other then Jr moved away and Maravilla naturally sought the bigger money with Cotto. Simple fact that until 2014/2015 GGG was never even 'the man' at 160 and was never worth the money he brought to the few big names there were.

And from 2015 on, he has been trying to get the big fights, so...

Thing is we're used to fights not happening for other guys, often for years on end, even those with major promoters with huge war chests and stables they can call upon for in house fights. How is it a surprise when a guy with a minor league promoter who ain't worth the risk doesn't get fights when he wasn't even on the radar til he was 31 or 32?

Ha ha. And that is the short version. I can go into more depth if you like.

How is it 'good luck' when he was gifted the titles by missing out on two of the biggest names in his division, that would have massively raised his profile and earning power?

'Good luck' - or in fact just how we as boxing fans should expect the sport to work - would have been Sturm fighting him as mandatory in 2010 instead of the WBA actually re-writing their rules to promote Sturm out of harms way. 'Good Luck' would have been Canelo facing him in 2016 when he was a year younger and Canelo was a year greener.

Certainly doubt Golovkin saw the meaningless trinket the WBA handed him as good luck when he could have had a Sturm fight and potentially become a star in Germany instead of facing two years fighting in boxing purgatory... what do you reckon?

Think it's you who might have it ass backward my friend. there's been a lot of revisionism around Golovkin's career, mainly cos he (and his fans) pissed off a lot of people, but at the end of the day all fighters are driven by both the money and the glory.

Can't say it's impossible Golovkin could have fought a few different and better opponents, but the same can be said of literally any fighter. Just bear in mind that few fighters have the luxury of being able to fight pretty much who they want when they want like Floyd or Canelo, on top of which Golovkin was hobbled with a small time promoter with no stable on a network with diminishing budgets.

You want to go into this, man, we can do it all day. All I ask is that you keep an open mind and are willing to apply a level of consistency in applying the same criticisms to your favourite fighters as you do to your least favourite. You willing to do that we'll get along just fine.

You guys just cant quite shake off golovkin can u, he still makes you insecure cause the public know he won. I clicked on one of the comments section on sky sports article and the casuals were just referring to canelo as corrupt and how he lost to an old fighter twice literally all the most liked comments were along them lines

He is clearly the best fighter of them if you go by what Vegas judges say on a Canelo fight on a Goldenboy show. Many of us go by who our own eyes told us won and not the judges. There is a good reason Canelo will only fight GGG in Vagas and not in LA or New York. The Vegas judges are famous for being very kind to Canelo in their scoring of his fights.
