It was a pathetic performance. I know he was way out of his depth but so was Liam Smith. I rate Smith higher than Fielding anyway but still, he was also far out of depth v Canelo but he kept fighting and trying and didn't give up until he couldn't continue. Smith was spirited and that's why he got another fight on HBO v Munguia. Nobody will want to see Fielding ever again.

It's one thing getting the opportunity to fight Canelo and make good money, but imagine turning up resigned to defeat and going out that easily.

As an Englishman I was hoping he’d put up a good fight, albeit I expected a mid round defeat. Got to say though....it was a pretty pathetic effort.

He just needed to get his jab going and stay at distance, but he was a nervous wreck and lost the plot completely under the bright lights.

Hope he enjoys his payday. Not sure he earnt it frankly.

Canelo beat the fight out of Rocky with that first bodyshot.
(Andrade, Charloz, Jacobs ect... would have stayed down from that shot.)

Fielding is a tough Mofo. He couldnt do anything and his look to Alvarez everytime he got dropped was like... "Damn!!! Cant belive this dude is doing this **** to me"

Yeah, I learned to land on the liver with a well placed left hook to the body. If I land a decent one or someone landed one on me, it was a sharp pain, that takes a lot out of you.

When I google "boxing liver hook", I get a lot of pictures of a left hook to the body that look like canelos first knockdown in round 1.

If I google "Canelo AND Fielding AND liver", I get a lot of
articles from different sources (guardian, express, ESPN, bloodyelbow) who are describing canelos hooks to the liver.

Canelo Alvarez knocked down an overmatched Rocky Fielding four times and rolled to a third-round TKO win to capture a secondary super middleweight belt Saturday night.

Dan Rafael also describes Canelos hooks to the liver.

Late in the second round, Alvarez landed a left hook to the liver, a carbon copy of the shot he executed in the first round, and Fielding went down again.

Maybe you are right, maybe Im wrong, but thats how I always understand a liver punch.

Yeah he wasted everybody time basically! I knew he wasn't good but damn he was even worse than I expected

He was picked because somehow he had a Title at 168, they knew Canelo would destroy him EASY and he did

Fielding was too lazy to take the usual acting lessons.
Gets up smiles etc. could have faked it better.

Sky sports (as they always do) were hyping it up as a brave performanve but lets face it, he quit. He sprung straight back to his feet when the ref said the fight was over, im not a boxer but i thought if u went down from a body shot in the sweet spot then u literally cant move. I didnt see golovkin throwing himself on the floor every time he got hit in the body.
Fielding embarrassed himself really when u consider the efforts of liam smith and khan in comparison.
I tend to agree with you.

Smith, Fielding and Khan just took their cheques against Canelo. None of those guys had a realistic chance against him and they all knew it.

I don't begrudge them the payday, but when you get dropped by bodyshots you either lack conditioning or defensive technique at the very highest level. Smith and Fielding are C levels guys, Khan is a B level guy and it showed.

Jamie Moore had to be embarrassed.
                    lol @ carcass!

This is true though for real. Fielding literally came to lose. DAZN is in the fight fixing business.
