I don’t think he will pull through.
I’m guessing he’s all hooked up to a ventilator, and all kinds of iv’s in his arms. I hope he can make it, and have a decent quality of life. It’s sad.

It all depends whether or not he is on life support. If he's breathing on his own then it's a good sign. However, if he's not then it's going to be up to his family to decide what's in his best interest. Right now though he is in the Lord's hands.

No idea without the full details

Being in a coma for that long with brain trauma isn't a good sign though.

Is he breathing on his own or not? - if not, then all it usually means is a machine is keeping you alive and you're as good as dead. That said, if that was the case, i think they might've made a decision by now. My aunt was on a life support machine from a brain hemorrhage a few weeks ago. It become clear within a day or two that she was basically dead and it needed to be switched off.

So in one sense, the fact they haven't made a decision like that so quick might mean there's possibilities.

I guess we'll never know without full details of his condition and if he's on life support.

If he doesn't make it I assume his children will get a payout and his victims will finally have closure.

I heard that Kovalev has been laughing his ass off over this.

I didn't like the guy much and wanted him to lose, but man, not like this. I really feel bad for him right now.

What do you guys think? Can he wake up somewhat normal?
At his peak he was a beast and I was a fan. I somewhat felt like he had regressed which is natural with age. I really hope he pulls through but the silence is scary. Usually there are some updates when say someone gains consciousness or is showing signs of improvement. Maybe they are silent about it because he has Haitian roots where it could be cultural to keep everyone in the dark because of witch craft.

That's exactly what I came on to say - it's a tragedy whatever happens, but in some instances the closure of death may be more merciful for all involved.

We can only hope that he recovers to an extent that it's not even a question that needs asking.

Thoughts and wishes to Adonis and all his loved ones.

I saw an interview where Kovalev said he was praying for Adonis to pull through. He had nothing but positive words to say. I don't think many people would say negative stuff during such a time because any of them could have been the victim here. This is in no way a sign of weakness, just that contact sports are dangerous sports.

                    Where you hear that, man?

                    What I heard was this:

Maybe it's a little tasteless of you to use this tragedy to smear another fighters' name like that, you think?

This ^. I'm not gonna try to defend Kovalev's character in particular, but he's a fighter who's been closer to tragedy than most with the death of Roman Simakov... Kovalev said it brought home to him (to paraphrase) how all fighters are putting their lives on the line every time they step in the ring. I think these tragedies in boxing unite all fighters and cross the boundaries and divisions within the sport.

Might be lost in here as well that Gvozdyk himself might never be the same either... many fighters are destroyed by the guilt of killing or crippling a fellow boxer when such things happen.
