Chavez got paid , because for some reason he’s still a name that attracts viewers
Stop with the PBC doesn’t have any stars , Wilder just headlines a PPV that did Canelo #s when he fights a unknown and almost all the top American fighters and talent are with PBC and if you include ESPNs stable l. Every American fighter with any buzz is with with PBC or Top Rank
All Canelos decent PPVs figures to included a known and marketable B side . When he fights a Liam Smith type his numbers aren’t Overly impressive
But will that continue to be the case if he fights the Feildings and Lemiuex types on a app the general public doesn’t know exists , out of sight out of mind
Yeah Canelo will get paid regardless but if he fights low level competition on DAZn a majority of his fights , Only some boxing and his hardcore fans will watch
I mean he has a fight in 2 days and No one gives a f.uck about it. People are still talking about the Wilder /Fury fight and to some extent Loma is
His brand/profile won’t be exposed or increased meanwhile the fighters aligned with ESPN / Fox will have their profiles increase
Obviously none of those fighters are going to generate Canelo $ but they’ll sure have more exposure and a better chance at becoming the new faces of the sport while Canelo is basically gone from the picture and if he and his team choose to fight no names for most of this DAZn contract Casuals / Hardcore boxing fans will watch the fighters that are on easily accessible platforms

Both guys have stables that contain one PPV star, and only one them in the US. I can't imagine those two morons did anything but blabber on about Canelo and AJ the entire time they spoke to DAZN, which I'm sure was the only reason they were talking to them in the first place. I think this is a failure of the people behind the platform, they didn't do their due diligence on these two jokes. I still cannot get over Eddie not shutting up about A BILLION DOLLARS and TAKING OVER AMERICA and the takeover begins with...Vargas versus Dulorme in a half full (being generous) arena in Chicago. 'Go and download that app yanks, there's a lot more where that came from!' Hahaha! What a disaster
I don’t know
But right now and I could be wrong but I don’t think DAZn has been executed to make boxing fans let alone casuals interested enough in the product even though they have the 2 biggest stars in boxing attached to their app
The fights being offered so far have been avg at best
Maybe I’m wrong and it turns out to be successful beyond belief and they become the go to platform for boxing and attract all the names and big fights but right now I can’t see it

Click bait
this whole “theory” only carries weight if other platforms are not willing to work with DAZN

Canelo and his massive deal may be the undoing of DAZN! Seems like they are posturing to force GGG, Jacobs, and Charlo to sign up with DAZN. If they don't, I don't see how Canelo can bring DAZN enough revenue to justify the contract.

I will be honest, I am not paying for the app no matter who he is fighting lol. I am a boxing fan but I am also cheap. For me to pay, I will only join if you give me a fight every Saturday night. MMA ppv or boxing ppv. If not I will keep my money in my pocket. Let's be honest if he's not fighting the best what is even the point in this whole ****? This company will not last.

1. Canelo is fighting lemieux next and that will cripple DAZN? Like the same idiots who promised that Canelo was fighting lemieux in Sept only to look ****** when the GGG rematch finally got done. The same idiots that then said canelo was fighting lemieux in December just watch only to look ****** when a opponent NOBODY saw coming was chosen instead, Fielding and a move to 168. Or the idiots early last year that said Lemieux is next only to be fooled when Chavez got the call instead. My point is anyone who says they can predict who canelo is fighting next for certainty is a phuking idiot, a liar or both.
2. Because Oscar was asked if the May hold on the venue means you have already got a deal agreed to fight GGG and said No and when asked if he is fighting GGG next in May he said No that somehow means it's impossible to make that fight same goes for Jacobs? I guess the writer doesn't remember just this summer when Oscar told reporters nope GGG lost his chance next refused to accept when we said so the fight isn't happening Canelo is not fighting GGG on Sept we are fighting someone else. After 1 week he went back to negotiations table and made the deal for the rematch in Sept. lol And even Hearn was asked about this Oscar comment regarding Jacobs smiled and said I think Oscar is just trying to keep leverage we still trying to make that fight. Maybe Oscar just said that yesterday to kill any talks about GGG or Jacobs so the focus could just be on Canelo/Fielding because that's the fight that's happening now. When that's over his tone and answers to who canelo is fighting next could easily change.
I have no clue who canelo is fighting next but neither does this idiot writer who like others predicted this fight to be Lemieux and got it wrong. A whole lot of bytching and a ****** article predicting doom for DAZN while having no clue what the business this fight coming up will do or who canelo is actually fighting next. Boxingscene is going down hill with ****** articles like thisLast edited by bigdunny1; 12-14-2018, 08:52 AM.
