Up on the cards but so was Stevenson vs gvosdyk

I had it 3-3 but I guess I could see 4-2 Kovalev. Kovalev was throwing twice as many punches and landing the same amount as Alvarez. And Kovalev seemed to have nothing left after the 6th

There's a difference between legitimately being up on the cards and fraudulently being up on the cards. Stevenson was losing handily in reality. Kovalev was not.

I don't feel Kovalev should have been up on the cards is what I'm getting at. alvarez would have had to win all 6 of the last rounds to get the nod?!
Kovalev used his power in round 4 only the rest was coming forward and being out boxed it was close but it wasnt the one sided beatdown "alvarez is going to get knocked out any second" "wow what a fluke kovalev easily wins the rematch" that everyone seems to be thinking I'm in the minority but I think Alvarez actually will be the betting favourite in the rematch.



Also I dont think Stevenson was losing hadnily, it was 6-4 or 5-5. no way stevenson was winning it was close maybe by design as in round 11 stevenson had nothing left at all.

Kovalev looks a bit too relaxed. He doesn't seem to have that seriousness and determination Alvarez shows. Although on the other hand Kovalev was dead serious in his second fight with Ward, that didn't help much. Neither did low blows

I'm picking Alvarez again - unless Kov has made some real mental changes. He threw the kitchen sink at Alvarez and it wasn't enough. He gets frustrated too quickly and you can see the change in his demeanour when that happens.
If Kov had more patience he really could be great but he's wastes energy and focus trying to be too much of a badass. Heck, he's a superb mover, got bags of skill and crushing power but I think his achilles heel is his mindset. Shame.

His Achilles heel is his stamina and his heavy consumption of alcohol.

Those 3 knockdowns were hard and legit, and Kovalev knows it... Thus the respect for Alvarez... There was nothing unlucky about that devastating loss... I think he has 2 rounds this time to seal the deal... Alvarez might be over cautious this time around to begin with... Then he knows he can flat him out cold... Still a 60/40 Alvarez fight IMO...
