I think Hearn is going too hard at that. Hes only looking at numbers and if you only look at the numbers compared to the sports supertars then they are not exactly dazzling. I thought everything was priced too high but forgetting ticket prices the real money is in the PPV and although it didnt do dazzling numbers it was priced high enough to rake in some good money, it was a gamble at that price with such a poor undercard but i think it paid off for them and the poor undercard was soon forgotten the main event was spectacular.

Their dream outcome, which they have fallen way short on, was clearly to try match Joshua in terms of income, Obviously for a bigger split but i feel Finkel wants to make a play on control of this fight. He wants to be making them an offer which he controls. Just a gut feeling. But thats why he has been holding off, he wants control and he wants it to happen in America.

So the article neglects to mention that Wilder v. Fury has nearly grossed more in PPV revenue than AJ v Povetkin? Lol

We don't even have the UK buy figure yet and Wilder v. Fury has already nearly surpassed the PPV revenue of $27 million earned by AJ v Povketkin. So it's likely that their fight has earned more money than AJ's last fight.

Regardless of whether the numbers are good or bad, he needs to be more concerned about what the numbers of the rematch are going to be. He says that making a fight with Wilder or Fury will be easier for him now, but that couldn't be further from the truth based on one simple fact: neither Wilder or Fury need Hearn or Joshua right now. Not so long as a rematch with each other is on the table.

If you read the whole article, PPV is much more expensive in the US. The fight generated $24 million plus maybe double that overall.
Canelo was already a massive star in Mexico, he has a whole fanbase of boxing mad Mexicans in America that he's had for years, you can't compare it to that fight.

Wilders a lot older than canelo. Its his own fault hes not built a fanbase

You and I both know the narrative that Hearn wants to push is that Wilder doesn't deserve the money he is asking for so that's why the fight isn't happening. He isn't talking to the avg boxing fan, he is speaking to the AJ fans that buy AJ vs anybody tickets and ppv.
