Mikey - Brave, ****** or both?

What are your current thoughts on Mikey jumping up two divisions and taking on Spence?

On one hand, he has some serious balls. That's a huge move and he's going straight to a much bigger champ with serious power and skill.

On the other, it seems straight up ******. No fight to acclimatize to a 2 division jump? No testing how you hold up at WW before taking on one of the best in the division?

Mikey is switched on and always seems to know what he is doing, but still... This strikes me as impulsive and I think he is in for a big shock.

The cancer of boxing continues... Over the past decade fighters have been praised for taking low risk/high reward fights. Mikey is changing the tone of boxing and taking a high risk fight and hes being considered impulsive and dumb?

& for people that want to cry about the Loma fight, well that fight will always be there whether Mikey has a 0 or not.

I find it a waste. I hate fights like this that on paper give the bigger guy an easy win and the smaller guy a a big payday fight without making him fight a meaningful fight within his division. I hated Canelo/Kahn. I hated GGG/brook. I don't like this fight that much either even though it could turn out to be very good.

IMO, Spence should be fighting Ugas or unifying with Porter and Mikey should be fighting Comney. Then Spence/Thurman and Mikey/Loma.

Well, I think it is brave and I think it is not Cherrypicking like it's been done for more than a decade now.

Thank you Mickey for stepping up, just don't get yourself killed in there.

I think brave, he is in a win win situation. He loses meh, but if he wins the world would be speaking about him. The risk is quite low but you still have to be brave to fight someone that young AND big. Someone that doesn't know how to lose yet. I wouldn't call it ****** rather calculated.

It seems to me on the surface that he is avoiding Loma at all costs.

I think ******. He has a very makeable, desired matchup against Lomachenko. A matchup he would get a lot of credit for, and a matchup he has a size advantage in. If he fought Loma and beat him as is expected, and THEN moved up for Spence, he could say "well, the dude was too big for him".

What he's doing now he runs a serious chance of sustaining serious damage against a fighter who's ~15-20 lbs bigger than him. He may not recover from that fight.

Plus, this gives an appearance that he legitimately wants no piece of Loma. General consensus is that you can't duck people not in your weight class, so noone would blame him for not fighting Spence. However, he actively avoids Loma despite being called out twice already. Not a good look. If he takes a beating against Spence then never fights Loma, his legacy is trash.

I expect Mikey's brother to throw in the towel at the first sign of trouble. to prevent a permanent injury like GGG did Brook.

How can anyone think that Mikey is ****** for trying to fight Spence, what happened to the best fighting the best, with no risk, there's no reward, sure it's a difficult fight and Mikey will most likely lose, but he's an undefeated champion and wants to challenge himself and I applaud that.
