The road warrior who actually wins on short notice. He is making some noise in the division the last few months. A knockout win over Kiladze. He beat Martin Bakole on 7 days notice & got 11 days for Ustinov. Hearn offered him a slot December 22 so I hope he takes it & gets a good opponent. Rahman has done an outstanding job with him & I assume got him right back in the gym. If he gets that date he will have a 3-4 week camp. He took some big shots from Bakole & he almost made Bakole quit. He wanted to quit with the sore arm but his corner sent him back out only to watch him get KO'd. At 213 he has a solid chin & decent looking power. He beat the crap out of Ustinov from the opening bell. I really like what I am seeing from him so far. Very humble when they asked him who he wanted next & he said it didn't matter but he wants to fight the USBA champion because his father held that belt when he was a kid. He actually wants to win some of the regional belts his dad held. He is in no hurry by the sounds of it. He is already boxing rec #20. Holds an IBO & WBA regional belt already.
Michael Hunter is one of my new favourite fighters...

Hearn offered him Takam but Hunter wanted more time for that. He's good and can have a fun run at heavy but he'll always be too small for the top guys. He could make real noise at cruiser if he went back. The road warrior who actually wins on short notice. He is making some noise in the division the last few months. A knockout win over Kiladze. The only thing I heard was during the telecast Froch & the other guy suggested Takam as a dance partner. I didn't hear anything from Hearn about Takam but He did offer him Dec 22 date on the undercard. If he did offer up Takam I could understand Team Hunter wanting a full training camp.Comment

Apparently he wants to sit out the rest of the Xmas season, which is fair enough after 3 fights in quick succession. Let's see who they can get Hunter in with in Jan/Feb 19, he's said he'd take the Takam fight in a month or 2... what about Kuzmin, Helenius, Zhang, Kabayel, Szpilka, Wach, Duhaupas, Wallin or pretty much any HW who's just short of the top 15? Surely someone around that level is available, and I'd fancy his chances as at least even against anyone between 15 and 50. There's no need for his management to look at anyone outside of the top 50 in any case, Hunter's already beyond that.Comment

I agree with you but he did say he wanted to win the USBA title because his late father held that belt when he was a kid. It has meaning to him. That being said he filled in for Zhang Zhelei against Ustinov. The USBA belt is vacant with Hunter as the #2 ranked fighter with Zhelei being the USBA #1. Kauffman #3, Hanks #4, Alonso #5, Fedosov #6, Niall Kennedy #7, Chazz Witherspoon #8, Jermaine Franklin #9, Dawejko #10, Forrest, Corbin, Karpency, LaRon Mitchell & Nofire filling out the USBA 11-15. I suspect it will be one of those guys fighting Hunter for the vacant USBA belt if he chooses to go that route first. Hunter vs Zhelei for the USBA strap early next year? I would think a few more fights against a few of these USBA top 15 wouldn't be a bad idea before taking on a legit top 20 HW like Takam. A fight with Kauffman, Fedosov or Zhelei would be a good next step.Apparently he wants to sit out the rest of the Xmas season, which is fair enough after 3 fights in quick succession.
