Comments Thread For: Wilder: You Must Take Title From Champ; Fury Didn't Do That

An old boxing axiom suggests that the challenger must "take" the title from the champion. It's not enough, according to that debatable adage, to merely test the title-holder in a competitive championship match and expect to leave the ring with his crown. Deontay Wilder argued Tuesday this theory applies to his split draw Saturday night with Tyson Fury.

The truth of the matter is that Tyson Fury won that fight and Wilder was exposed!

I dont think the PPV does anywhere near 1 million like Wilder was saying!

This fight wasn't some kind of domination by Fury. It was a close fight that was very hard to score. I thought Tyson Fury's ring generalship was superb but you can't win the champion's title away from him by running out the clock, not getting hit and not throwing enough punches. Wilder out threw Fury by more than 100 punches with a broken arm. Where as Fury only outlanded Wilder by only 13 punches. That is why the fight was ruled a draw.

Boxers like.lennox lewis, floyd, ward saw fury do what they did in their careers. Boxing ears off opponents.
Ward was knocked down by kovalev and kovakev had more success than wilder and didn't resemble nfl player yet still lost.
Fury did take it to you, letting you throw a lot but outlandish you. That's what Floyd did. Floyd didn't throw crazy amount either, just landed more.

I've heard they cracked over 400k so far. Not terrible numbers for anyone not named Canelo or Mayweather. Rematch should do better, just load the undercard this time around with fights that matter.

I see people are saying wilder was exposed. What exactly did you learn new about wilder after his fight with fury?

That's what most won't acknowledge. It wasn't some clinic like Mayweather vs Canelo. This was a close fight that with rounds so close that it could went either way.
