You always put a smile on my face anytime you call on the champs name. It's obvious you cannot do without him but it's not a surprise to me either. Everybody wants to talk about the unified champ.

      • I wouldn't underestimate Joy Joyce. He's a very big strong athletic silver medalist and very dangerous. You never see a guy that big doing back-flips...just doesn't happen. And before you tell me that the sport is not about doing them...it's quite remarkable. Nothing would surprise me about him making his way to the top level fights and making it very competitive.

Never a smart move. Remember, Hanks was clocking Joyce steadily right out the gate, even if he was stopped. And Ortiz comes out the gate very active. IMO Ortiz stops Joyce mid/late rounds in a competitive fight.

at the same time...hes 33 already.....this is one way when you start late....the other is you end up at ortiz's age with a thin resume.......so joyce physically isnt gonna get much better...he might as well go for it now
Could be. I do wanna see the fight though. And I give Ortiz an excellent chance to come out on top.

              • Joyce is in his athletic prime so probably thinks it detrimental to build his career slowly. Time has caught up with Ortiz and he looks to be declining.

As others have said as well, Ortiz's record is pretty poor for the supposed boogeyman of the division.

This could be a war if it happens and I'd love to see it.

                • Luis Ortiz is too experienced and seasoned for Joe Joyce at this moment. Although Joyce could punch he still lacks a defense and is too easy to hit. He leaves himself wide open and vulnerable to Ortiz' counters. As we all know that is recipe for disaster against a scientific boxer/puncher like "King Kong" Luis Ortiz.

                  • The fight that I would like for Joe Joyce to entertain is Adam Kownacki. That should be a very good crowd pleasing and fan friendly fight to watch. You got two be strong guys that love to hit and eat punches with good chins.

I'd like that too but can't see it happening. Kownacki I has been fed other Haymon heavies to bolster his record and it's likely they'll try to build him up for a title shot at some point and so they won't risk him losing to Joyce.

The way Joyce dispatched Kiladze compared to how Kownacki struggled early with Kownacki will give them doubts they can handle such a big, powerful heavyweight in Joyce, so it's a fight they'll steer clear of.
