Pedraza is too slow for Loma.

Pedraza is ranked top 5 by Ring magazine and Boxrec. Those that think he is not worthy are novice fans. Will he beat Lomo? That's not the point. He deserves the shot.

To be honest, this fight snuck up on me. I kind of forgot about it in all the Wilder/Fury, Khan/Crawford/Brook, Porter/Ugas and Adonis Stevenson news.

This is a decent enough scrap. Pedraza has a boxing pulse. He is not a scrub. He will come to fight. Lomachenko has had an injury so there is a slight possibility of a wild card never really a part of a Loma fight. And he looked very human his last time out. At this weight, Lomachenko is a naturally smaller fighter. There is some intrigue with this match if you get past the headline.

Of course, I feel Lomachenko wins. But Pedraza is a fighter that could offer at least some good moments, especially if Lomachenko is not 100%.

his height is what he has going for him..but it's hard to root for him when he got destroyed by g.davis..and we all know who was king when loma and davis belonged in the same division

This is supposed to only be a tune up after surgery and it's still a unification.

He's better than he showed vs Tank.

I'm in the minority I like this fight.
I rather think it was Tank who showed Pedraza how it was meant to be done. Tank would spank any version of Pedraza.

He's got to be confident, otherwise what's the damn point of fighting? However, unless Lomachencko's surgery hasn't healed properly I see one possible outcome.

It will be seen as kinda a mismatch but then with Mikey unavailable it's hard to see who else could have been chosen that would be seen as more competitive at LW. Easter or Commey may (possibly) have been seen as tougher - except both had just fought when the Pedraza deal was struck.

Right or wrong Pedraza is generally seen as a top 3 - 5 135Lber (behind Loma and Mikey) - that it's seen as a mismatch is kinda a testament to the regard in which Lomachenko's held (and of course that Jose was smashed by Tank, but styles make fights).
