i'm sure he will probably be mentioned with all time greats, if he isn't already. i say mentioned with all time greats because i don't believe in one all time great fighter - like many people think ali is the greastest of all time, or marciano was the best fighter ever. all that is is opinion. but, manny, i feel will definitely be named among one of the best fighters of this decade. btw, i didn't mention p4p 'cause i think such lists are BS - in my honest opinion.

anyways, looking at the guy's record, just from 2002, he's beaten good/great fighters in jorge elicier, marco antonio barrera, juan manuel marquez(listed as a draw due to a defective judge), 3k battery, velasquez, erik morales, and now oscar larios.

those are pretty goddamn good accomplishments in the last 4 years. it's hard to think of another fighter who has fought such excellent competition back to back to back as manny has.

the man has my respect as a great of this decade.

He's well on his way to a hall of fame career, I dont see him slowing any time soon either.

Think of it this way. He's only 27 and he's already KO'ed Morales and Barrera.

I do wonder how much his willing to trade style is going to effect him later in his career. as another poster said. outside of barrera and morales who should pac fight that would be considered young and hungry

He will be an all-time great but only in Asia....just like JCC is an all-time great to the Latinos. But by World standards ...he's just one of the regular fighters that was great in his era and division that laced up the gloves.

Some people have been mentioning Manny as a counter puncher from his fight against Larios. Perhaps he's trying to mix in a new role in his style that could preserve him later on down the stretch in his career, Barrera style. His all out offensive attack style has gotten him where he is now though I think him and Freddy are trying to get Manny to slow down more and counter explode or just calm down abit. He looked real good against Larios doing it though I don't know how much that really says. I also think he's going to be known as an all time great for taking on anyone anytime. Let's not forget, he was preparing for the rematch against Marquez until it went up into smoke. Marquez meanwhile had his thumb up his ass wondering how much money could he get out of the fight before he's KOed in the rematch. Manny doesn't dodge.
Someone also said about taking on the younger fighters. This is true though Manny actually mentioned something about this that had to do with the money. He respects all the new fighters though he worked hard to get where he was and he had to make the most money out of it taking the big fights against real named opposition. He hoped people would understand that. I'm sure though down the line the young guys will become big names and then he'll end up facing them too for big $$$.

All time great p4p? Well he has a very good chance.

It all depends on the development of his career in maybe 2 or 3 more years. His destiny is in his own hands and only time can tell.

I'm thinking he needs to do a little bit more. Rightnow after Morales and MAB, what? Maybe he needs to go up to 135 and fight the title holders.

He has KO'd 2 future hall of famers in his career already Morales and Barrera and has beaten Ledwaba Julio larios and others. I personally think it might be difficult to be an all time P4P great because there are no other superstarts at 126-130 besides those he has already beat. I think the comp is what is going to hurt him. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of names to fight but none with the star power of barrera and morales and that is going to hurt Pac.

Exactly what I'm saying Bro. That's why I'm saying he probably needs to go up at 135.
