You're defending a guy who beat and ****d teenage girls "cuz he liked 2 box and we like boxing".

Either you have no morals or an extremely low IQ.

And either way karma has struck. This guy doesn't deserve to live out his days as a protected millionaire while the girls he beat and kept imprisoned in a prostitution compound live poor with PTSD.

You can kill a fellow gang member or whatever and turn your life around and people forget about it. Torturing 17 year old girls? Not so much. Adonis should be either in a prison cell or on death row.

You need to look at yourself in this situation, as I stated earlier.

I never liked Stevenson but how can you not wish him a good recovery? He's a fighter and he risked his health doing what we love to feed his family. He isn't a great person but he served his time and paid his price. He never killed anyone.

It is the risk they take in combat sports, and we should not feel that way. But we do. I just recently learned about his past, and was giddy he got beat. Figured this was it for him. Was glad the belt was on someone else. Was also very skeptical about him being taken off on a stretcher.

Then I read this headline and my stomach dropped. I feel horrid for all those happy emotions. All of a sudden I could care less about his past. Just hope he is okay and ends his career healthy. I have seen enough tragedy in this sport.

Last night and this morning, here in Canada, they were reporting on this fight and the brain bleed that Stevenson suffered. Some parts of the footage showed Stevenson being carried away in a stretcher. He was sitting up and his eyes were open but he had this really distant look in his eyes. He reminded me of some of the dementia patients that I've seen in the old age home/ nursing homes. He looked bad.

There's now talk of banning boxing. This seems to happen every time a fighter gets seriously injured but Stevenson is a big name fighter so this discussion might be delved into a little more than it has been in the past. I don't think there'll be any changes implemented though. I'm not sure how boxing can be entertaining and safe at the same time. Most people love this sport because the danger and the violence.

I was happy that Gvozdyk won but I really hope Stevenson comes out of this without too much damage. It's sad to see what's happened to him.

Bad judging landed him that fight in the first place he should of lost to jack and had a easy retirement fight instead he got one of the hungriest up and comers In the game.. just another reason why boxing needs to fix the corruption.

Yeah Im sick man. This is the first time a fighter I rooted for to lose has gotten injured, and the first time Ive seen anyone get injured at the top level of the sport where it wasnt the refs fault. I always used the excuse that yeah people die in boxing and I watch boxing, but only because of mismatches the promoters put on, or only because of inept doctors or refs who let a guy who is really injured take a beating. But this was a title fight, Adonis showed zero signs at all, and there was no way of preventing it, so clearly I am full of ****. This is probably what lots of new boxing fans go through and why they stop complaining about guys ducking the best opponents and whatnot. The sport is cruel. The only excuse here is Adonis is 41 years old and probably on PEDs. They probably both are so it's one guy whose body is messed up from PEDs getting hit by another guy on PEDs.

Actually, that's going to be my new excuse. If these guys werent all on PEDs, the sport would be much less dangerous, and they wouldnt get hurt. Just like the NFL. Okay cool, now I can go back to enjoying boxing.

But seriously, no, I dont know what to think about the sport anymore. I feel bad for him, his people, and for Gvozdyk and almost Teddy most of all in a weird way. I think he suffers in this world as intelligent people do, and this was supposed to be something wonderful that he came back for and accomplished, and now it could end in tragedy.

I think the joyful feelings of victory must have been tarnished when Gvozdyk and his team heard about Stevenson's condition. I love boxing for the violence and sometimes I wish I was a fighter inflicting that violence on another fighter but I think I would be devastated to actually kill a guy or maim him, even if I didn't like him.
