This fight was actually a tune-up fight for Fury...his best is yet to come whereas Wilder is was already in his best shape and is not going to learn how to box in 6 months. And now he knows swinging from the rafters is not going to work against Fury...so what's he going to do?
Though I've somehow been accused of being "Team Wilder" (whatever that means), I think Fury wins a rematch. His style makes other fighters look awkward which gets him points to win rounds that he really didn't win. His style is "I didn't look as bad, so overlook the connect numbers and give me the round" and frankly it works. He's easily technically more skilled than Wilder.
Wilder is also older (33), has many more fights and that could have an impact in a rematch. So if he can avoid getting floored again he wins a rematch walking away. That is unless Wilder manages to put him out (and there's always that chance).
Fury *could* win an easy decision if he doesn't goof off but in theory he could have done that the first time around. I'm sure he will goof off again.
Even if the judges were dirty, he could have pulled a shut out if he didn't keep screwing around. Right before the first "knockdown" he was putting his hands behind his back and backed himself into the ropes, lost his feet.
The simple fact is that wilder put fury to sleep!!! The problem was that he only went to sleep for about 5 seconds but no doubt he was SLEEPING!
Both fighters took damage in that fight BUT fury took more damage. In a rematch, fury will not get up if wilder lands and i do believe he will land. If fury can make adjustments and doesnt allow the wilder bomb to land, he will win the fight by decision.
Fury is the one with even more room to improve. I do not believe wilder can get any better than he was last night.
Final prediction for wilder fury rematch... Wilder does in fact land his bomb again and fury goes to sleep for a couple minutes this time. Wilder by 10th round knockout!!!
