I never really see the point to waving a fight off instantly.

In older fights you don't see it nearly as much. It seemed to be something refs did for dramatic effect to emphasize the finality of a punch. Then it became the norm. And you had refs waving fights off while physically holding a fighter down as they were trying to get up. Just a nonsense practice.

I disagree. He had a horse in the race. He was both partial and biased towards Tyson Fury because he favored him to win by giving him that long count. Team Wilder should ask the commission for a review of that tape and see was he down more than ten seconds. with his lying, corrupt crooked self.

Indeed, this myth has been destroyed already on twitter.

People are just grasping for anything they can get, quite sad really.

From the time Fury hit the ground until the time Reis said "fight", 20 seconds elapsed

Fury was given 20 seconds to recover

              He got up at 9.

Another 11 to recover after getting up

Happens all the time in boxing, they get 10 seconds to get up but it's up to the ref to make sure they can fight.

Boxing rules say you have 10 seconds to get up, nowhere does it say the fight needs to begin 10 seconds after the KD.

Look at Deontay's last fight. It happens literally all the time.

And if he doesn't make the fighter prove he is actually okay and that fighter get's seriously hurt moments later who's fault would that be?

The ref did the right thing. Health comes before anything else. It is just a sport.

Fighters should be given a standing 8 count... After 10 seconds, you ask the fighter to walk foward, you shake their gloves, then say fight

No more then 12-13 seconds should elapse

20 seconds is a foul, but I'm not gonna argue with you guys so have at it
