Ortiz needed a great win, got a good one. Not sure how this moves the needle for him as far as big fights. If he blows this guy out, he gets good PR and since Joshua and Wilder appear to have busy dance cards, good PR may have gotten him a better match against a fellow top 10 HW wanting to make noise. With this victory, he is still respected by boxing fans and has zero buzz from the more casual fans. Little PR, low reward, still high risk.
Ortiz seems doomed to fight mid-card status against "B" level or worse competition. I see a 2019 that is just going to be a waste for a fighter who can't afford a wasted year.
