2 schools of thought here. One is forgiveness. I get that one. I believe in it. The Book insists we forgive. He was parentless and living on the streets. He almost had no chance, and was in gang activity by the time he was 14. He has had zero incidents since that time in prison and stays out of the limelight, a private person just doing what he loves. I can get that.

But there is also repenting and redemptive efforts, and I have seen zero that says he is doing anything to make up for that past. Not found anything that he is working with organizations to get women off the streets. Nothing that he has reached out to help troubled youth with no parents that are on the same path he was. It may be there and done in private, but I can't find anything.

I think I just lost complete respect for this man. War Oleksander Govzdyk.
Some people on here go to far calling him a pedophile and a rapist. He was not charged for **** and was 20-21 while the youngest victim was 17 (it's not stated anywhere if Stevenson was in charge of her or another gang member). I suggest you get a translator app and read ''Adonis Stevenson: la vraie histoire de superman'' by Caroline Touzin. It's hard to imagine that some people live such hopeless lives. Stevenson's reversal of fortune is really a quite rare thing. Imagine barely knowing your mother before the age of 7, never knowing your father because he died in unspecified circumstances (voodoo, karate or you've been lied to all your life). Your first vivid memory is that of a murder you witnessed at the age of 4. And it doesn't get much better for the next 20 years. Homelessness, falling prey to a sociopath gang leader, becoming a horrible person, prison and extreme prison violence. His only way out was to fight for a living. Of course his action of 20 years ago are undefensible, only some will forgive but no one will forget that will weigh on him for the rest of his life regardless. I can tell you that he did volunteer some of his time after he became champion to the youth of the neighborhood he comes from. A few years back he was slated to be at an event for women rights (or something of the sort i can't quite remember) at a Montreal university but once the media got a hold of the story he was uninvited. This year he gave 15K to the family of a missing child who sadly has yet to be found.

The number of boxers that are or were pimps, rapists, and women beaters is probably quite high. I'm laughing at all these fans saying they want guys who beat the crap out of each other for a living to have high moral values. If you're going to hold athletes up to high moral standards, then you might as well stop watching sports altogether.

He never once apologized to the women and some woman's groups protested early fights of his and he rebuffed any intentions to try to help any organization regarding women and it is easy to see - if you torment women, you are evil, period!
