sure not many guys have disappeared from the sport and did what fury did to himself...then come back and looked like a world beater....but everything is unprecedented until it happnes for the first time......fury may actually be a legit, tough, opponent

wilder will get no credit for beating anyone in the division in the eyes of his haters.....if he had knocked out povetkin in russia they would have done the same thing to him they did to ortiz...which was make him out to be crap.....but leading up to povetkin/AJ povetkin was still dangerous! LOL
That's both fan bases really. Wilder fans wanted to give him so much credit for agreeing to fighting Povetkin and were quick to jump on Joshua when he called Fury out after one of his fights. Just switch the names of the opponents and each fan base would change it's tune on the opposition. Fury ****** on here not long ago and was seen as a joke now some are viewing him as a great fighter.

I wasn't that high on Ortiz as an opponent because he was very old and very inactive and never reached the top of the division (never got a shot I know) but Fury being more of an unknown but at least still young and with a pedigree I am intrigued by it. I wasn't into Joshua-Povetkin but I saw the logic in Parker even though I wasn't excited by it. It's slim pickings at heavyweight.

Both fans have already made their minds up about what they'll say afterwards I'm sure and that's why it's just gotten too tedious for me to the point I just want Usyk to get a shot and take someone to school so the division goes through him.

The most disappointing aspect of the whole build-up to me is rooting for the event to fail and trying to convince people to not watch or telling them not to enjoy it and to be honest if it was Joshua-Fury the Wilder fans would be acting that way too.

wilder fans would not be rooting for aj/fury fight to fail...because they are smart and reasonable enough to know that it wouldnt fail.....now that doesnt mean that wilder/fury wont fail...it might fail to do numbers...but american fans realize aj/fury wouldnt be a failed promotion......its just the state of uk vs us boxing as far as interest

and usyk is a good fighter....and u might think that joshua and wilder(especially him in your opinion) arent even near him as far as class....but youve got to realize....that might not matter should either of them get in the ring with usyk....usyk is obvi much better than parker...but parker couldnt get to AJ.....he might even be outmatched by wilder even though technically hes much more

He wasn’t wlad from his prime no, neither was AJ yet at his peak.

He big difference is that fury actually has not only had a lay-off and clearly been at a significant (beyond significant) levels of obesity in his time away rather than remained in condition.

That was a result of a number of things but the levels of depression, including drug taking, and impact on health should not be underestimated. Anyone who has gone through that will be able to understand.

The levels of performance of Tyson gurus comebacks only go to prove that which were well below par. Nobody was impressed with his performances against opponents picked so he would knock them over like he was going bowling. Only he didn’t even get a half strike, he just knocked one pin over and fortunately the opponent missed the lot!

Wladimir fought a good fight against Joshua. I don't think anyone can deny that. Even though he lost he showed more in that fight then he did in a lot of his wins.

That doesn’t change my points. Wlad remained in shape and many believe he put in a far better performance than against fury. If he was in bad shape he would’ve never recovered from the knock down or been able to keep trying to fight on following the upper cut/ knock downs in round 11 - so it’s hard to claim he wasn’t in the right shape.

Fury on the other hand was a ridiculously amount overweight and is weight drop levels was extremely dangerous according to most health experts. As mentioned before, his comeback fights showed us he needed more to be ready.

You can give wilder credit for taking the fight on but let’s not try and make out he is fighting a top 3 contender. At the moment it is hard to argue fury would be expected to beat most of the top10. As an absolute minimum I would fully expect all the following six to beat him in his current shape:

Ortiz, wilder , Joshua, Povetkin, Whyte, Parker.

Yes he showed heart and it was fantastic as well as aj .What I'm trying to argue is ppl need to stop trying to make tyson look like a bum or under valuing him , he's still a top heavy and I don't care what anyone says .
