Mike's fans saying he beat a bunch of B level fighter! B level! Lol. More like X, Y and Z level. Maybe a couple of C level guys, and one B level guy in Spinks, but he was a cruiser. Fact is, Mike got destroyed by Danny Williams when Mike was still in his prime. Check his age at time of fight. A heavyweight that age is prime. And fact is, he never beat anyone as good as Danny Williams in his so called prime. Mike was fringe world level at best.Comment

You have to understand that Atlas is a guy who by his own admission (his autobiography) plotted to kill Donny Lalonde because he dumped him before the Sugar Ray Leonard was made...so he lost out on his 20% of the 5 million purse. He literally waited outside his apartment with a gun but backed out of it at the last minute. So he see this young guy Tyson to go on to make a fortune for his camp and he's on the outside looking in. We know how he reacts to that. Lalonde never even knew he was in Teddy's cross-hairs until the book came out. He has a pretty dark side to him and hate runs deep with this guy.Comment

his best win is micheal spinks. and thats not saying much. what makes Tyson so mystic is that he went to Prison for while, cus died it affected him heavy. he had some set backs so every one blames all his loses on outside the ring events. Mike is a case of "what if" what if he never went to Prison etc. And we all know everybody gets the victory when people say what if.Comment

Dude, you must have just gotten into boxing a few years ago because you keep saying this.Mike's fans saying he beat a bunch of B level fighter! B level! Lol. More like X, Y and Z level. Maybe a couple of C level guys, and one B level guy in Spinks, but he was a cruiser. Fact is, Mike got destroyed by Danny Williams when Mike was still in his prime. Check his age at time of fight. Dude, late 30s was not prime for any athlete until very recently. Muhammad Ali, Rocky Marciano, Larry Holmes, Joe Frazier, etc. . .were not putting on great performances after their mid '30s.
Only in recent history with Lennox, The Klitschkos, and others have you seen heavies fighting well into their late 30s and usually that's with huge guys like George Foreman, who don't need speed.
Tyson was a small heavy who relied on speed and timing. Late '30s was ancient for him. That's why Marciano & Frazier got out the game at way earlier than 38.
Tyson beat Larry Holmes mercilessly, 4 years before Holmes then beat Ray Mercer, who absolutely destroyed Tommy Morrison who was the the heavyweight champion.
Guys like Razor Ruddock, Trevor Berbick, Tyrell Biggs, and Pinklon Thomas were not considered "shot" or lower level until Mike Tyson beat them like they stole something.
Tyson like many historically great offensive fighters made really good fighters look like dogsh&t, therefore making people consider the people they fought overrated, when it was Tyson who was just that good.
He fought at 24, then went to jail and didn't fight again until he was 29, that's a huge chunk out of what should be the prime of your career.
Yes, Tyson did ultimately come up short against guys like Douglass, Holyfield, and Lewis, but I'd argue only Douglass & Holyfield beat something resembling Mike Tyson.
Lewis beat Tyson 16 years after he had won the heavyweight title. That's an eon in boxing.Comment
