Much better than sticking Rios in with Kelly, just to get a name on the resume.
He's not habitually an ultra-defensive fighter, at least not based on what I saw of him as an amateur. He fights off the backfoot but he stays within counter-punching range and is always looking to land power shots, and he has a bit of that Calzaghe machismo where he'll ditch the gameplan for a moment and fight it out if his opponent does manage to get to him

It makes sense to me. Kelly vs Rios would be dangerous for Bam Bam. They could always say Yeleussinov vs Rios is ok since Yeleussinov is a prospect.

Yeleussinov won pretty comfortably when they were amateurs but Kelly looks the better pro so far IMO.
I’m interested to see a rematch between the two next year.

I like Kelly, wouldn't surprise me if he turned out to be the real deal, but time will tell on that.

But as for adapting to the pro ranks 'better' than Yeleuissinov, Kelly is approaching the end of his second year in the pro ranks, and Yeleussinov the end of his first year. Yeleussinov has fought in the UK twice, US twice, monte carlo, while Kelly has been at home the entire time. I don't see much difference in the quality of opponents they both took on in their first 5 fights, so Kelly saying he is ahead is correct only in terms of him being a year ahead and Yeleussinov has some catch-up to do.

If they both keep winning for the next couple of years then maybe it will be a level playing ground depending on how much they fight and level of opposition, but for now, Yeleussinov has to close the experience gap.

Eager???? I doubt these 2 will fight each other in the next 2 years, but I hope they make a liar out of me and fight in 2019, I will NOT hold my breath waiting.

Hearn manages both - he'll marinate any potential fight between the two until one of them looks like their shelf life its limited (a bit like Yafai's at the moment..) before matching them. Could be a while.....

Mohammed Rabii outboxed both of them in the amateurs

Rabii didn't outbox Yeleussinov. I thought Yeleussinov won that fight.
Josh Kelly also did much better against Rabii than he did against Yeleussinov.
I believe Rabii just moved up to 154. Let's see if he can become Champion at that weight class. If he does then I'm sure in the future both Yeleussinov and Kelly will move up to face him at 154.

Fighting a couple of bums has got this kid cócky I see. Just like Kell Brook The Bum Killer. Calling out names, clout chasing... STFU with your cheap-ass RJJ imitation. Talking about fighting Brook/Khan and the guy who destroyed you in the Olympics. What about Rabii? Mention him too then ya príck.

                      Yeleussinov would destroy him...again.

This kid needs to STFU and learn to walk before he can run. Fighting Avanesayan is a good step in the right direction. Beats having to fight Ernie Smith in a trilogy.
