While he does have two wins over De La Hoya, those two fights essentially represent all that he's done this decade. I think he's an HOF, but not first ballot. I always thought of him as more a fan favorite than a great fighter.
It's all about who teaches you for learning boxing skills; Shane's father didn't do so well in the "technique" department.
Floyd Jr. had the fortune to have been trained by both his father and his uncle, quality fighters that over time learned how to become better boxers, passing down what they learned from their losses to Floyd Jr. to make him better...that's why Floyd is so dam good.

I really think that there only a handfull of excellent trainers, and maybe a dozen quality trainers...the rest are hacks who put a towel around their shoulders and hope they can get lucky with somebody who is naturally a freak of nature when it comes to athleticism.

Yes......he is not as great as the Sugars before him but has had a great career.....and it is not even over if he can maybe beat Floyd someday **** that would put him back on top and lock him as and ATG.

        I dont know..

He beat Oscar (when Oscar stated "I'm gonna show my warrior side)and in doing that...Oscar put his chin and his head out there for Shane's quick hands to eat it up. The second fight Oscar looked better and Shane got a confrontational Decision as oppose to his previous Blatant decision.

Than he lost to Forrest twice cause Forrest wouldn't let Shane inside like Oscar did..

Than he lost to Wright after he got accused of using performance enhancing drug's. Either the lack of those drug's took effect or Wright was too big for him, either way he lost 2 times to Wright..

Than Vargas...lol Vargas got knocked out by Shane at 154..nuff said lol..that's sad alone.

Now with a Career like that and the skill's that he had...I dont know about all time great. But his skill's definantly showcased in his time..

Ehhh, honestly, I'd put him on the outer fringes of "All-Time Great". He was superb at Light-weight; but his welter-weight credentials are suspect as are his stats at Jr. Middleweight.

I'd say he might just get under the bar.

if shane had not gone up so far in weight he would be probably still be a top P4P fighter... he really shouldnt be fighting the top guys at 154-160...

what if he meet PBF back then... speed vs speed...i think shane has the advantage because of his power.

fater or faster? I think Shane's handspeed (combos) is faster.
