Get it in your head. Wilder fury won’t do 1 million USA ppv buys. Stop being a fanboy

      Stand by your words.
I said 5k giveaways. No way it sells 15000 tickets. It’s not even at 10k yet two days before the fight lmao

There is zero promotion here in LA. Don’t you get that?

I'm not saying that Wilder-Fury is going to do one million buys; I've simply said that there is an article, right here on Boxing scene, where Eddie Hearn states that the only way he'd offer Wilder a 50/50 split on a Joshua fight would be if Wilder-Fury did a million PPV buys.

If the tickets sold end up being well over 10000, what would you say then?

500k buys in the UK, times £20 per buy, gets you to £10m; $1.4:£1 and you've basically cleared $7m once the outside parties are paid (assuming that the UK and US are the same, and that Sky Sports, as distributor and operator, takes half of everything).

On top of that, Showtime would easily pay $2m-$3m for the US rights to the fight (the fee for Joshua had gotten up to $3m if I recall).

And then you've got the live event at O2; no idea what the gates on Joshua's O2 fights were, but that'd be a good place to start, imo.

There's still a lot of unknown here, but the parts adding up to $15m+ isn't that tough, and Wilder getting only $8m off of that is silly. If Whyte was the draw you expect, he would've earned more than that £1m for the Parker fight, right?

Comparing Lennox Lewis to this is a clear red herring; MGM Resorts/Showtime were ready/willing/able to put up $60m to stage the fight in Las Vegas and Joshua simply didn't want to travel (Wilder's take was likely largely dependent on how well the event ended up doing, but Haymon/Finkell weren't going to have him step in with no guarantee; $50m to Joshua, $10m to Wilder as the guarantees makes sense). You add that Joseph Parker allegedly got a third to make his trip to the UK (with far less money coming from his own home market), and the attempt is even sillier.

AXS.com, eyeballing the map, has 1500 tickets left for sale, lol.
Wilder is not AJ he does not have the same or similar draw.

Whyte is also likely to have a bigger draw in the UK because he is already popular and British, generally the home fighter bring the larger draw.

You over inflating all your figures out of thin air and even your exchange rates and we are yet to see if that 50 mil was profitable.

Anyway we're not gonna be sure either way until it happens, I could be wrong, I could be right, we're just wasting time discussing the what ifs at the minute.

Respect. The California fire fighters have been working hard. This is awesome. I think after this fight the popularity of both Wilder and Fury will increase tremendously
