i dont want to see too many people laughing cause he was getting talked about as some guaranteed p4p star cause he beat up some C level guys early on. the way people were talking about him and putting him in p4p top 5 after beating demarco youd have thought he was a HOF'r already, he wasnt exactly being talked about as some prospect. funny how hes now a laughing stock but once upon a time the same posters were so sure he was the heir to mayweathers throne, all experts in hindsight though right
It's not like hyping up Conor Benn and Ohara Davies who are both absolutely garbage with no talent or any kind of potential at all.Comment

i wasnt putting them two top 5 p4p cause they 'pass the eye test'Comment

No one considered Broner a P4P fighter even his biggest fans.
When The Ring had him on their P4P list no one agreed.
But potential P4P? Yeah. That wasn't some idiotic line of thinking. Broner obviously had a lot of potential to go far in the sport. Again, his talent isn't to be questioned but his skills, IQ etc didn't live up to it.
Ohara Davies and Conor Benn on the other hand are no more than domestic level bums with no talent or potential what so ever. Winning a European title would be a massive overachievment for either of them.
And you hyped both of them up so who are you really to critisize those that hyped Broner?Comment

Youre lying, plenty of fan boys had him on p4p lists. His talent can be questioned, just cause u look.good against c level fighters doesnt mean u are gifted enough to beat the top level guys. Why cant people like u admit u got it wrong? Just cause he beat some smaller fighters doesnt mean he was some amazing talent. He was american outspoken and undefeated so he got overhyped
Secondly, no they actually didn't consider Broner P4P. Quote 5 people who had Broner in their Top 10 P4P lists pre 2013.
Thirdly, there's nothing wrong with being wrong anyway. Plenty of experts get things wrong especially when it comes to a fighters potential because a fighter can have tools at a lower level that don't translate once they fight higher. Broner clearly fits that category. Zab Judah is another one who fits that category.
I myself was high on Anselmo Moreno, thought he had tools to be P4P #1 potential but I was wrong.
What's dumb is you acting like being wrong about a fighter's potential is some lack of understanding of the sport when potential isn't fulfilled all the time.
ESPECIALLY when you made threads hyping up actual domestic bums like Conor Benn and Ohara Davies. I mean, Conor Benn literally would never have had a televised fight if he wasn't Nigel Benn's son. Literally no other reason.Comment

Broner had talent, no doubt.
Al Haymon saw something in him that he thought could make him the next Floyd.
So Broner gets gifted 3 world titles, then the ugly reality starts to set in.
His 4th world title fight is a split decision against Paulie, a very close fight. Seriously anyone who believed Broner was going to have an upwards ascending career from that point was just drinking Haymon Kool-Aid.
Maidana ruined him, he showed that Broner has no answer against a decent pressure fighter who can **** a bit.
Broner post Maidana is gun shy, flat footed and defensive, not a good strategy in a heavier weight class.
His lifestyle out of training camp is frankly ridiculous for a professional athlete, he is totally undisciplined.
I cannot think of a single reason he should be even considered a HOF boxer.Comment
